In what’s become a bizarre and insulting tradition, Michelle Obama once again chose a very odd place to flaunt her wealth on Thanksgiving: a Washington, DC-area food bank.
Last April she she appeared at the same food bank wearing Lanvin sneakers that cost more than the average annual income in Kenya. This year she wore a $495 Prova scarf.
The Washington Examiner has the fashion highlights from down at the food bank:
For this occasion of serving the community, Michelle opted to wear an ivory knit vest layered atop another long sleeve, ivory knit sweater. This is a rather interesting choice of apparel. If she wanted to layer, you would think she would have chosen two separate colors, right? However, the monochromatic look is indeed in this season. Perhaps, the first lady was trying to be on the cutting edge of fashion, as she so often is. She paired these sweaters with a silk, lavender colored Prova scarf (similar to the one she wore at an Indonesian mosque recently). The scarf was highlighted layered fringes of gunmetal beads and white pom poms.
We don’t know Prova from Pravda, but it turns out there might not be that much difference between the two – the line also includes a line of “Sandinista” scarves.
We’re honestly surprised that Michelle Antoinette didn’t wear one of those in support of the murderous, socialist Nicaraguan regime.
UPDATE: Turns out Michelle does own one of Prova’s Sandinista scarves. You can see it covering her head during her visit to the Indonesian mosque last month. Figures.

In all sincerity if this hadn't been reported I wouldn't have known and I think the same would be for the homeless she was given food to. The scarf to me looks like any scarf nothing special whatsoever... however knowing that she is a highly photographed woman and that her fashion decisions are scrutinized she should have worn simple, non expensive clothes from a US based company (Walmart sounds good) and go from there. Just at least to make the impression that she is not showing and she is not flaunting her wealth.
Who in there right mind would pay that much for a scarf? or any article of clothing/Shoes for that matter? I swear the Obama's act like they won the lottery. She don't care about those homless people she did that for publicity which is why she wore her designer duds. This is America and you have a right to spend Your money not mine the way you want as long as you don't tell me how to spend mine. Don't preach to me about saving money and helping those less fortunate when your scarf alone could feed half of Cambodia if not all. You or know different then the celebrity enviromentalist who promote driving a prius or wipping are a*s with one square. Hypocrites

Glad to see that she can flaunt her wealth to the poor, who were probably put there by her husband.

She has no mirrors, or she has no friends (or true counselours) or her daughters are too afraid to tell her not to go out looking like that (and her husband for that matter). She looked relatively okay here, but once again the colors were whack, I wonder if she is color blind...? which would be funny if she had some form of "color blindness".

If the political elite are so in love with themselves that they need their media hacks to write articles explaining how awesome their fashion because we are too stupid to know the difference then you know they are emporors with no clothes. As for her hideous headscarf in Jakarta, I'm pretty sure she was the laughingstock behind closed doors...seriously...that fringed scarf? It looked like it came off of a Victorian lampshade! Has she never heard, "When in Rome. do as the Romans do"? If you're going to wear a headscarf in a Muslim country, wear it like you're supposed to, not like you're posing a la Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn. They exuded class.
Michelle Antoinette has as much class as a bag of sand, but the sand has far more personality. Amazing how Michelle the racist loves being in the lime light, from her paid for education that provided us her thesis that was such a racist document that it was under lock until after the elections, her $600 lunches, her $75,000 a day vacation, nothing is too good for Michelle Antoinette, only two more yeas of this slime!
Not only that- but how about the fact when she was the VP of Chicago Medical Center, she and Valerie Jarret (who chaired the Medical center's Board) was cited for cherry picking- sending patients w/o insurance, or the poor to comunity hospitals, whilst freeing up beds and procedures for those who have ins, or can afford to pay for costly procedures.
In comes David Axelrod, co-owner of ASK Public Strategies- the firm who pitched the program called the Urban Health Initiative, and was subsequently "employed" by CMC- whose "bylaws" were the cause for a young boy bitten in the face by a dog, to be sent to a community hospital with only a tetanus shot and a painkiller by bus when he could have been seen right there at CMC.
They'd already tried their "Universal Health" on the poor of Chicago, and now they have forced through their agenda for the rest of us. she is as slimy, detrimental, feral and unconscionable as her Luo Tribesman. To hell with them all.
