You hear those occasional stories about people who win the lottery and somehow blow all the money and you think, “Those people are morons.” When you hear this story you’re going to say, “No, we’re the morons.”
The Associated Press has the really aggravating details:
Leroy Fick of Bay County admitted he still swipes the [food stamp] electronic card at stores, nearly a year after winning a jackpot on “Make Me Rich!” He told WNEM-TV in Saginaw that more than half the prize went to taxes.
Fick says the Department of Human Services told him he could continue to use the card, which is paid with tax dollars. He told WNEM: “If you’re going to … try to make me feel bad, you aren’t going to do it.”
The TV station says people have seen Fick driving a new Audi convertible. Messages seeking comment were left with his attorney and the state today.

He's entitled to his entitlements, it's a liberal thing....
I was so angry when I read about this. Even Glenn Beck covered it. Fick doesn't think there is anything wrong with this because the government took almost half of the $2 million in taxes, so he feels that he is OWED by the government and uses the stamps. He has so much money left, that he can grow and manage correctly, but instead he wants to be a scrub. The laws that allow him to keep doing it should be changed. This is EXACTLY why I detest government entitlement programs.
