Just when you thought Washington politicians couldn’t possibly appear more corrupt… apparently the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate is married to a woman whose family: A) made him rich by giving him millions of dollars in 2008 (is it not a bribe when it comes from in-laws?); and B) owns a shipping company that smuggles Columbian cocaine.

As much as i despise this wormy runt, I have to give him a pass here. If there is a hint of scandal, the democrats will be all over this. Count on the MSM to report this like it was the second coming of Christ. They aren't.
The cocaine aspect is simply funny. It's the "gift" of "$5 to $25 million" that has me upset. It came in 2008 according to the article, long after they were married. The Chinese are patient and think long-term. If you were a wealthy Chinese family, maybe you'd marry a senator thinking that having connections to a senator could be valuable. Then when it looks like the son-in-law will soon become the leader of the U.S. Senate, you might give him a little more incentive to watch out for the family's interest. I'm sure it's all perfectly LEGAL, since these are in-laws, but it stinks to high heaven.
Or maybe those millions of dollars were a direct pay-off for something McConnell had already done for them. Which pisses me off too.
His wife was Sec of Labor under the W administration. Director of Peace Corps under GHW Bush. I found that the father gave them the money after his wife died. Probably dumping the estate to avoid death taxes? He's also quite the philanthropist.
