Marco Rubio offers his parting thoughts before the Senate’s August recess. He insists this debate of the last few weeks has just begun. It’s about nine minutes long, but worth every damn second.
Why is it that this guy can speak so beautifully, so emotionally while barely referring to notes, but our Commander In Chief, once called the greatest speaker of all time, can’t get through a sentence without his Teleprompter?
Rubio is scheduled to speak at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California during the recess. That’s only a two hour drive from IHTM Intergalactic HQ, so the Editor and the Administrator may head down that way to be inspired.

Someday this guy will be president ... if we last that long.
I long for the day Chris Christie announces his pres bid and signs on Rubio as his running mate.
I'm sure at that point the editor will be living his proverbial "cream dream".....am I incorrect?
My father was a dairy farmer and I grew up on a farm. I think my concept of "cream dream" may be different than yours.
Unfortunately, the Rubio speech at the Reagan Library is sold out, so we won't be able to attend nor video it for you guys. No one is more disappointed than the Editor and the Administrator. We were really looking forward to seeing the Republican rock star in person.
What if you sent an email telling him about this niffty site you run called "I Hate the Media" and how much your readers are dying to hear his speech...members of the press get in to these things all the time, why not you? Just an idea.
I'm sure there will be plenty of "press" people there who are against him, how about some people who speak for America?
I'll try to stop by my local GOP office this week and see if I can get a copy of the speech, or at least a transcript. Since he's my Senator, I think I have a shot if they can get it.
Actually, Los Osos's sewer war.
Did the sh!tologists go on strike?
Do you have the date when Senator Rubio will be speaking? He is certainly very refreshing and I suspect Presidential material someday. Hopefully. In a side note, I live very near your headquarters, L.O., and I was wondering if you have any thing to say about our sewer war?
We're happy to say we know nothing about the Simi Valley sewer wars.
Is that a new video game?
You said, "That’s only a two hour drive from IHTM Intergalactic HQ, so the Editor and the Administrator may head down that way to be inspired."
Okay, here's the deal. If you two lumoxes don't get out of your PJ's, suit up, beam down there and then report back to us we'll revoke your intergalactic space communicators, super ray guns and tell your wives on you!
Two things: (1) We need a back-up plan. Any IHTM readers in the Simi Valley area who plan on attending? And (2) There are no pajamas. We do IHTM in our underwear. From separate houses, mind you.
TOO much information!!!;>)
Not enough in my estimation... boxers or briefs? favorite color? and size? LOL :-)
Not enough in my estimation…
1-boxers or briefs?
2-favorite color?
3-and size? LOL
1-Commando
The rest are irrelevant.
An amen to you on that!
LOL
I wear a kilt half the time. It would be wrong to wear anything under it.
Interesting... lol
You wear underwear? What for?
Better do it, Mr. Ed and Mr. Ad, I think he means it! ;)
Listening to him you realize he has more leadership ability in his little finger than Obama has with his entire cabinet. With speeches like this it would be an easy victory for Rubio if he should decide to run.
I like him; he's my Senator, too.
But this speech was not good. Moral relativism. YOU JUST DON'T EQUATE THE FREE MARKET WITH SOCIALISM AND SAY, "well, they're both legitimate, we just disagree." SOCIALISM MUST BE WIPED OUT. Rubio knows better.
Yeah, he was being polite and civil, unlike the pricks on the left who now call us terrorists.
First the TEA Party was angry white racist extremist homo-islam-ophobes fearful of change, then they were terrorists and now they are responsible for the down-grade from S&P.

I just posted moveon.org's take on the whole thing. Imagine that, politicians (Tea Party) making good on their campaign promises...THAT is what has these jack a#$es so afraid! Why-o-why do we HAVE to increase taxes??!!!!!! Cut back government, most of my friends (all of whom are very nice but somewhat misguided) are liberal...you should hear them rant and rail about conservatives and the Tea Party. It is crazy! I just smile and say "Oh? When did it become a one party system, BOTH parties are to blame for this pile of BS we find ourselves in. Maybe, just maybe, it is because most of the politicians in BOTH parties no longer represent their constituents. Most politicians represent themselves and their next campaign contributor."
Thats awesome KB!
I don't disagree Ed. But to win those on the fence you must be perceived as a voice of reason. Reasoned men speak reasonably and the truth they speak will resound. We know that socialism is a failed concept, but to win those who are not sure, we must gently show them. Sometimes we make them think it is their idea.
St Francis de Sales was quoted as saying, “Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength”. Truth does not need volume or a megaphone, it simply needs a simple voice. Back in the 1980 election, Reagan was that gentle soothing voice that spoke the truth to power. Right now, Rubio is that voice. I find no one else like him.
The man is wise beyond his years.
Hell, he's wise beyond MY years!
DANG! Why'd I get rid of my uterus? ;)
Fweetness, you know how to make me smile! :D
Awww, fweetness!
