MSNBC’s Alex Witt graduated from the University of Southern California, but apparently slept through her geology class.
In this clip she interviews a geologist about the Iceland volcano and is shocked – absolutely shocked – to learn that a volcanic eruption can last for a year or more.
As Planet Gore said, “It’s always illuminating when the people who tell us nightly about the absolute certainty of anthropogenic climate-change demonstrate their ignorance about how the Earth works.”
And as IHateTheMedia.com says, “We wish we’d said that.”

Just like rick sanchez of cnn , thought galopagos islands were Hawaii . Just another testament as to what the liberial , socialist , education system has produced , a bunch of fricken idiots
What I love about Sanchez is that he is from the Cuban exile community, but he is basically a socialist. He is too damn stupid to underastand why so many Cubans left Cuba & escaped to the USA.
Alex is her middle name. Her first name is Dimm.
RonCee...I wondered the same darn thing. Has she never seen those shows on Discovery or the Travel Channel that shows the lava flowing into the ocean?
Idiots like her probably think it is endearing to be good looking and stupid. Well Alex Witt, I don't think your very good looking either so where's that leave you? RonCee, glad you included that about Kilauea erupting since 83, but that's nothing, these Islands took millions of years to form and a volcano could erupt for that long.
hmmmm, "works" for MSLSD, bimbo-esque blonde, college degree from so cal... wait, I know I've seen her before..... was she in the national who's who of MENSA?!?! ....no, that's not it.... it was PLAYBOY!! yeah, she was featured in an piece about "The Girls that do all the Frat guys at USC!!!" ....hey Alex, check this out... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C4%ABlauea
This rocket scientist should maybe pick up the writings of Benjamin franklyn who was stuck in europe one summer when the sun didn't shine, and it was very, very, very cold, due to this very volcano! What a dumbass.
I've got a headline for you:
"'I Hate the Media' readers shocked that MSNBC host knows what a volcano is"
Probably the last time she mentioned the "domino effect" was during a beer pong session at USC.
