MSNBC science reporter criticizes Obama, anchor jumps to his defense

Reporter Jay Barbree apparently forgot where he worked for a moment and criticized President Obama for excluding NASA employees from a speech about NASA employees. (Of course, Obama had to exclude them because they would have known he was lying about protecting their jobs).

Half of this equation is surprising, but the other half is to be expected.

Not to worry, though, Obama Kool-Aid drinkers. Anchor Alex Witt jumped in quickly to defend Obama and deliver the official MSNBC party line.

Barbree: But I’m a little disturbed right now, Alex. I just found out some very disturbing news. The President came down here in his campaign and told these 15,000 workers here at the Space Center that if they would vote for him, that he would protect their jobs. 9,000 of them are about to lose their job. He is speaking before 200, extra hundred people here today only. It’s invitation only. He has not invited a single space worker from this space port to attend. It’s only academics and other high officials from outside of the country. Not one of them is invited to hear the President of the United States, on their own space port, speak today. Back to you Alex.

Witt: Alright Jay I can understand why that would certainly get you a bit upset. I will say, on behalf of the Obama administration, they contend that 2500 new jobs will be created, even more, they say, than the 2012 Constellation would have created, that program. So I know all this remains to be seen, but understandably we get why you’re upset, right now. Along with many others down there. Let’s see if the President clears that up later today. Jay thanks so much.

MSNBC host is shocked to discover that volcanoes can erupt for a year or more

MSNBC’s Alex Witt graduated from the University of Southern California, but apparently slept through her geology class. In this clip she interviews a geologist and is shocked – absolutely shocked – to learn that an eruption can last for a year or more.

As Planet Gore said, “It’s always illuminating when the people who tell us nightly about the absolute certainty of anthropogenic climate-change demonstrate their ignorance about how the Earth works.”

And as IHateTheMedia.com says, “We wish we’d said that.”

Ed Schultz to run for Dorgan’s seat? Alert the death squad, because we’re dying laughing

Here’s Ed Schultz pretending to be emotionally overwhelmed. Hilarious. Yet here he is on MSNBC with Alex Witt, revealing the fact that he’s been approached to run for Byron Dorgan’s senate seat.

Witt: We’re going back to Ed right now because you got a pretty important phone call, and what did they ask of you, the Democrat Party?
Schultz: Well, last night when Sen. Dorgan was talking to me, he asked me how old I was. And I went, “Uh-oh!”
Witt: This is not for a birthday card.
Schultz: Yeah, I did get a phone call this morning from Merle Boucher who is the House Democratic Leader and he asked me to consider to run for the United States Senate seat in the state of North Dakota. I asked him very point blank, “Is this an official ask?” He said, “Yes it is.”

Senator Edward (we assume he would begin going by the more formal name) Schultz. Funniest thing we ever heard. Except for when we heard that Al Franken was running for the senate. Anyone heard how that turned out?

By the way, has there ever been a senator with a stranger name than Byron Dorgan? It sounds like someone speaking nonsense Swedish.

OK, we’re done rambling now. We’ll stop.
