The same network that chortles over Sarah Palin’s supposedly inaccurate comment about Paul Revere announced on Monday that Lyndon Baines Johnson was never elected President of the United States.
This is surely going to be news to Barry Goldwater, the 36th President of the United States, who apparently defeated LBJ in the 1964 election.
Far as we can tell, MSNBC is spending so much time leaning forward that they can’t be bothered with looking backward.

because Johnson finished less than half of Kennedy's term, he would have been eligible to run in 68. He didn't. He DID run and win in 64, a year after JFK's removable from office. However, Gerald Ford was never elected either VP or President. He was appointed by Nixon as VP after Agnew's resignation, and ascended to the presidency upon Nixon's. A dark memory for the Republican Party.

Let's summarize: per that MSNBC video, LBJ succeeded JFK after the latter's assassination in 1963 but Johnson was never elected. However, five years later, LBJ decided not to run for reelection. Huh? LBJ was never elected but declined to run for reelection? WTF? What happened in 1964? Was there a presidential election or did LBJ merely re-appoint himself president? Even by minimal MSNBC standards this is dumb, almost Ed Schultz dumb.

This article reminds me of the great story that went around some years after the 1964 election. "I was told if I voted for Goldwater in 1964 the United States would become embroiled in war in Vietnam, we'd have race riots in the streets and runaway inflation. Well I voted for Goldwater, and by God, we got all three!"
I figure the only way people actually watch MSNBC is when the batteries for their remote dies and they are stuck until new batteries can be installed.

It seems Sarah Palin was more correct in her statement than incorrect. More than likely it was the delivery that was the cause for laughter as she talks in such a way with that accent of hers that Tina Fey so famously mocked. In fact I am not sure what exactly she was wrong about. Sarah Palin Hate is prevalent and I still don't know why. She is not a threat to anyone. She is overall harmless. The only thing I can think of is that as a social conservative that walks the walk she shames liberal people.
As for the LBJ not being elected. As we all know that is a lie. Either they are very stupid and don't know history nor how to do basic research, or they believe their audience to be stupid.
Now the WHOLE point of this little report by MSNBC in my humble opinion is to muddy the waters for Rick Perry. I am not 100% on Rick Perry. I had to vote for the man because the alternative was whack. However his being bought off by drug companies to put up this drug for little drugs for the HPV was disgusting to me. In any case, the reporter's emphasis of TEXAS tipped me off that this is a liberal play to muddy the waters in case Rick Perry wants to put his hat on the ring. He may not be perfect but the stats are on his side that his policies have added true jobs to the overall economy. He also claims to be a social conservative which is one of the reasons why they may be doing this. They are afraid of another purpoted Bush. Colmes said last night that Perry being from TX wouldn't happen because the last governor of Texas did not work out so well. That statement was strange to me. Let's see if MSN Bull Crap will be more transparent in the next few weeks especially if the rumors of Perry running get stronger.
What bugs me even more than Tina Fey mocking Sarah Palin is that Tina Fey is considered a brilliant comedian for this.
