  • I'm thinking that the 'One Nation" outfit practices the politics of division, and the 'Restore Honor' crowd practices the politics of unity. No wonder the libs think they're dangerous. You know the saying, 'divide & conquer', which the libs like to double down with 'sow hatred and rule'.

  The budget for the Department of Education, which candidate Reagan promised to abolish along with the Department of Energy, has more than doubled to $22.7 billion, Social Security spending has risen from $179 billion in 1981 to $269 billion in 1986. The price of farm programs went from $21.4 billion in 1981 to $51.4 billion in 1987, a 140% increase. And this doesn't count the recently signed $4 billion "drought-relief" measure. Medicare spending in 1981 was $43.5 billion; in 1987 it hit $80 billion. Federal entitlements cost $197.1 billion in 1981—and $477 billion in 1987.
  The result has been unprecedented government debt. Reagan has tripled the Gross Federal Debt, from $900 BILLION to $2.7 TRILLION. Ford and Carter in their combined terms could only double it. It took 31 years to accomplish the first postwar debt tripling, yet Reagan did it in eight.

I spent those thirty years putting that money in the bank. Sucks to be you! Obama even brought in a eugenicist-in-chief to turn down medical care to anybody whose medical care gets expensive. Gee, thanks. Obama lies so your grandma dies. About the time that you want to collect, and the bills are too high, you'll get nothing. I have personal experience with government health care. Got cataracts? One eye is good enough for the proles.

    Crap like that works great in Chicago with their schools, so the non-achiever-in-chief would import a similar disaster for federal government. Every election cycle, the pols in Chicago run on school reform. It sells big to the chumps. You'd think with 50 years of continuous school reform, that they'd be able to teach kids to read & write. Instead, they implement busing, so that you can't even vote with your feet if you live in the area.

    If you think you've seen governmental corruption now, just wait. All the rent seeking piggies are already lined up at the trough. The democrat party is the true party of Wall Street, in patronage and real dollars. You'd think that people would figure that one out. When you get republican candidates with $300,000 in contributions going up against democrats with $1,400,000 in contributions, you have to wonder first where they get all that money, and second, since the democrats are losing, how badly did they piss off their electorate, anyway?

    You can piss around all you want arguing about Reagan -- by my standards, he was a big government liberal, but so far, the best president in 50 years, not that that's saying anything at all. As to an 'great conservative hope', the man's dead. So he's people's hero? Harmless enough -- even socialists exhume him & Lincoln as a hero when it's convenient. Being dead, they don't have a lot of say in the matter.

    What is happening with the tea party is that new rules for government are being written. You can hate on it all you want -- but forming something like that was something that the democrat party should have done long ago, if they weren't so happy with supporting the political class for whatever crappy handouts they got at the expense of their nation. The Conservatives, Tea Party, and consequently the Republicans have a two year head start on the revolt. They OWN the idea, and most of the complaints I hear are just sour grapes.

    Too bad the democrat party, which always blathers about being the party of the little guy hasn't figured out that the little guy is drifting right because of their leadership vacuum. I smell a 40 years in the wilderness exile for democrats, given that republicans are so pissed off at their own pols that they lose in their primaries, and have to go whining about write in candidacy, like that ignorant hack, Murkowski. If two or three election cycles go by with republicans being held accountable for their actions, and democrats not thanks to their toady media, the democrat party will implode.

    The reason the tea party even arose in the first place has nothing to do with the skin color of Obama as the media would have you believe. Two-bit shyster pols like Obama have been running their communities into the ground for generations. The problem is, where a business used to be able to move out of those communities to let them stew in their own self-inflicted economic blight, there's no place to go from this country. It's a revolt of people who own riding lawn mowers, dude. You don't see that every day.

    • It is ironic you bring up the results of the health care bill. Because just the other day I received a letter from my insurance company. It said that because I was a student and a young person, that I will receive health care under my parents plan till 26. Also my employer, which is a SMALL business of 7 people will get a 28% tax break on employee health insurance!! WOW! Direct results that start now! Also, why is it a bad thing to help sick kids?! It is beyond me that people with so much, hate giving a SMALL bit to help dying kids. Why is this not commendable and patriotic now a days?!! Obama is a moderate, and that is his problem. In fact he gave 98% of working Americans tax cuts, including me. He needs to stop the wars, and focus on the homeland. And yes to your point about Democrats and Republicans being in Wall Streets pockets. They all are. Even Obama, who has the most ex Wall Street vets in his administration than any previous President. It sucks, which is why we need to HAVE financial regulation! So the Wall Street fat cats don't steal from the American people, both our money and political goals.

Ever wonder why the White House bought up adwords on Google before it happened? Goldman Sachs is famous for shorting stocks, and a sham lawsuit like that is a perfect way to pump the chumps. Did it ever occur to you to wonder who their friends are? You say that we need *financial* regulation? I say we need to regulate our lawmakers and policymakers, as financial regulation passed by these idiots is letting the fox guard the hen house.

        An investor that makes 3% over market is considered a genius. An investor that makes 6% over market is a target for an SEC investigation for insider trading. An investor that makes 18% over market is called "Senator", and the SEC says they aren't worth investigating.

        All the strong rhetoric coming out of their mouths is just obfuscation so that you don't watch what they actually do. Anybody that actually believes that someone who cashes the checks from the very people they vilify in the press has to be gullible beyond all belief.

      • Not sure WHERE you got your facts - but small business owners will be required to show ALL benefits as ADDITIONAL INCOME. So when they talk about taxes on SALARIES they have cleverly removed the costs of healthcare. Look it up and come back when you have the FACTS.

    Since you are 21 and barely out in the real world I cannot take you seriously. I bet your parents still send you money IF you do not live with your parents so you can pay bills, it is possible you don't even know what bills are and what to do with them if you got them, and you probably don't work. I bet you cannot balance a checkbook. Once you actually have to go out in the real world without a mommy or a daddy to bail you out, then come back and have a real adult conversation with people.

    Your poor English makes it difficult to make sense of some of your ramblings, but were you actually saying that tax rates under Reagan were 80%? If that was your meaning, please let us know if that was a fabrication or merely a delusion. When Reagan came into office, the top marginal tax rate was 70%. Ronaldus Magnus got it lowered to 28%.

    You are correct about one thing: We do have a “socialist” post office, public schools, police and fire departments. Unfortunately for your argument, they're all going broke. The first two are pretty good examples of the failure of socialism. The second two are pretty good examples of the failure of unions.

      • If my memory serves me right, Reagan tried lowering the top tax rate, & I think he did. He needed the help of Congress, which was controled by the Dems, so he really did'nt have a free reign to do as much as he could have. I think he got it around 40%, not bad from where it was, but it should be way lower. A 10 or 15% flat tax & getting rid of needless spending would fuel an economic explosion, instead we are going to have an economic implosion.

        We are not a strong capitalist country anymore, & considering the ChiComs understand how to grow an economy better then the Obama administration, it's no suprise we are in the hole like we are. It's not just Obama, the trouble has been going on for the last 15-20 years involving US-China economic policiies, & they are winning. We must reverse course or we are up sh!t creek.
