Newspapers, “America’s fastest-shrinking industry”

Newspapers, “America’s fastest-shrinking industry.” “A USC Annenberg School study reached the stark conclusion that most printed US dailies would be gone in five years.” The article blames the usual suspect, the Internet, but commenters seem more inclined to the idea that it’s not paper they dislike, it’s the useless leftist crap that’s printed on it. Denial – it’s not just a river in Egypt.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Competent, professional papers like "The Wall Street Journal" aren't dying. It's the liberal papers that are dying. But rather than admit that liberal bias is the source of their problems, in their denial they blame the Internet. The liberal daily in Louisville, "The Courier-Journal", gets thinner every year but they will not admit that liberal bias is causing them to lose readers.
