It's amazing, kids have been suspended from school for: drawing a picture of a gun, 2) chewing a cookie into the shape of a gun, 3) pointing their index finger at a classmate and now, 4) wearing a NRA t-shirt. Schools' policy of "zero-tolerance" has degraded into zero common sense and distain for the First Amendment.. My hat's off to Jared for refusing to kowtow to the school authorities and to the citizens of West Virginia for supporting him.

I live in WV and trust me - there were many, many calls made to the school board. (Always call the school board over the school - never the school) Our first & second ammendment rights are alive and well in West Virginia. Joe Manchin's future? Not so much.
Just to add...Not sure about Manchin's political future in WV - our state is full of conservative democrats (oxymoron anybody?). Manchin ran stating he would not be a rubber stamp for Obama - even had an ad showing him shooting the Affordable Care Act with a shotgun. So, we'll see what the future holds.
That being said, is spearheading the gun control bill a rookie mistake or did the party leaders know it was a loser and selected him to run with it?
Good for this kid and his parents. It's about time people started to push back against stupidity. Now lets see if the school and the school board will finally realize that their zero tolerance is zero brain cells. If the young man had worn some type of Anti American shirt or a shirt with something done by Maplethourpe(sp) would they have arrested him for that? 1st amendment is protected solely by the 2nd Amendment.
And once they destroy the 2nd, we will all be spending time in the Ministry of Love!

That's MY plan, if the economy doesn't improve soon. And since that would require Democrats losing control of the state, I don't see it happening.
You should move, but if you move to Texas (or any other red state) leave your California expectations behind. I saw it happen in Vermont, it was a Republican state for a 100 years until the hippies and socialists started moving there in the 60s and 70s. Now Vermont is a peoples' republic that's elected a Marxist senator (Bernie Sanders).
I am not licensed in that state but the young man should hire a good 1st Amendment lawyer and sue the crap out of this moronic school district. There is a Christian Law Firm that I think is national or have attorneys that can go to different states. Don't remember the name. Although they deal a lot with Christian persecution here in the States, their expertise is obviously the 1st Amendment and therefore they could help this guy out if he doesn't have the funds. He should have never been arrested. Absolutely disgusting and good for the other kids to show their support.
