After all those years listening to Reverend Wright’s inspirational sermons, President Obama is now agnostic. Which explains why he’s willing to break his campaign pledge and consider tax increases for the middle class. And, we assume, why he hasn’t chosen a new church in Washington, D.C.
The New York Daily News explains:
President Obama says he is now “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making under $250,000 a year to help cut budget deficits, signaling a possible retreat from a campaign pledge.
In an interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek on newsstands Friday, Obama said a presidential budget commission needs to look at all options for deficit reduction – including tax increases and cuts in spending on such programs as Social Security and Medicare.
“The whole point of it is to make sure that all ideas are on the table,” Obama said. “So what I want to do is to be completely agnostic, in terms of solutions.”
Obama repeatedly vowed during the 2008 campaign to spare households earning less than $250,000 a year from tax increases.

I want this to be a one term presidency and when it is done and over for the next President and Congress to get their acts together and undo as much damage as they can from this mess.
What a weird word to use too. I am wondering if he knows what it means? Wouldn't have been easier to say, at this point in time due to our circumstances I will have to reconsider my promise not to tax below this pay level? Using I am agnostic seems to me like he wants to hang on to both ideas at the same time (that he will and that he will not tax).
