Let’s call it a flip flop flap. People are understandably confused and angry that the Obama administration is now indicating that, well, maybe it would be ok if Muammar Gaddafi stayed in power.
This, of course, follows by just a few days President Obama’s belated demand that Ghadafi leave power and by just 24 hours our launch of missiles in support of Libyan rebels.
Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appeared on Fox News Sunday and said “We’re in a situation now that what we do will depend to some degree on what he does.”
“The focus of the United Nations Security Council was really Benghazi specifically and to protect the civilians,” Mullen said.
Well, sure. Protecting civilians and ousting Gaddafi. Right, Admiral?
“This is not about going after Gaddafi himself or attacking him at this particular point in time. It is about achieving these narrow and relatively limited objectives so that he stops killing his people and so that humanitarian support can be provided.”
Finally, Obama is becoming decisive. It may have taken him 32 days to decide to get involved, but it took just one day for him to decide that we’re really not involved.
Is it any wonder that this guy has our friends confused and our enemies convulsed?

Is it not interesting and quite telling that noone seems to know exactly what the mission is. If I didn't know better I'd say it reeks of ineptitude.
Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan ask the same question my friend.
"If I move you move..."
This dance is boring and dangerous. Yet another reason he and his cabinet should not come back.
ADM Mike Mullin, isn't he one of those evil white devils that Fryingpan was talking about? He seems pretty tepid to me. Besides, didn't Bambi say: "We aren't going to use force, after we use force, before we use force, when we use force the day after tomorrow or next week sometime." and didn't Mizz Thunderthighs repeat what he said almost word for word? He's so concerned for the welfare of his troops that he may go ahead and add another active combat shithole for us to scholg around in...just so we get some much needed desert warfare practice, 'cause you know NTC (The National Training Center) at Fort Irwin, California is just no good for that job! No, it sounds like he's thinking we're gonna need real 'hands on' experience. Mark my word, before it's all said and done, we're gonna need to go out and buy more yellow ribbons to tie around the old oak tree!
Do I sound cynical to you?
'To crush your enemies, to see them convulse before you while laughing with the women at you.' That's not how I remember the Conanator saying it.
You sure that guy doesn't run a pharmacy somewhere?...
Agree 100%, NavyVet. Obama in a dixie cup.
The air cover shows how the Bamster is still just winging it.
Obama is the reason you hire people that have previous experience.
FARRAKHAN: "I warn my brother do you let these wicked demons move you in a direction that will absolutely ruin your future with your people in Africa and throughout the world...Why don't you organize a group of respected Americans and ask for a meeting with Qaddafi, you can't order him to step down and get out, who the hell do you think you are?
"He's supposed to be the leader of the FREE world!!! Qaddafi, and you Farrakhan, are the wicked demons that ruin the future of your people. Who the hell do you think you are?
We are in deep kimshi with this moron Mike Mullin as CJC. I've seen him before and if ever it was not obvious you can ass kiss your way to the top, this inept buffoon removes all doubt. Mike Mullin CJC, scary.
Obviously NavyVet you are an Honorable squid pointing out the obvious, it is always hard to accept that your branch has its idiots, just like mine (Army). How well I recall Mikey rushing in to let the butt-bangers openly serve even though several service chiefs were against it, just so he could curry favor with the Dufus in Chief. I have met several 4 stars in the Navy that I had respect for, Mikey is not one of them. No wonder he had no problem with the rump Rangers, he has been kissing rump for quite a long time.
