• Since the only "religion" that Obama wants to protect is Islam, is this Rabbi going to be arguing in favor of Islam? Can we record every word he says, for reasons of comedy?

• When I last read the copy of the Constitution that the Heritage Foundation sent to me. I believe that the 1st Amendment covers religious freedom. The same amendment that the likes of the ACLU, atheist groups and others all claim that there's a separation of church and state.

  This appointment is nothing about religious freedom. It's just the opposite. What's next? Sunday sermons cleared by the WH or this POS?

  • I was also wondering why there is even such a department that needs someone to run it. I can foresee the day when this Ambassadorship gets so twisted around that the "religious freedom" we all get to "enjoy" is whatever the government says we should.

    • I listened to the guy who originated the position (decades ago) on the radio and he made a good case for this position. He says most counties don't give a crap about religious liberty, but they have to pay attention if they want Most Favored Nation status so they can do business with the U.S. So this seemingly silly position wields enormous influence on countries like Red China, etc. If you wonder why China finally started allowing Christianity to a certain extent, this is probably the reason. And the reason China is currently cracking down on Christians? Probably because they realize Obama won't hassle them about it.

The office is headed by the Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom. We monitor religious persecution and discrimination worldwide, recommend and implement policies in respective regions or countries, and develop programs to promote religious freedom.

  Given the U.S. commitment to religious freedom, and to the international covenants that guarantee it as the inalienable right of every human being, the United States seeks to:

  Promote freedom of religion and conscience throughout the world as a fundamental human right and as a source of stability for all countries;
  Assist emerging democracies in implementing freedom of religion and conscience;
  Assist religious and human rights NGOs in promoting religious freedom;
  Identify and denounce regimes that are severe persecutors on the basis of religious belief.

  Does anyone in the clown college read their own puplications as to the qualifications of the people they appoint?? Can they read??

• So, what this means is that King Barky took 5-1/2 years to find a rabbi that is as left wing and incompetent as he is.

  WTF? The years ahead? What years - there better not be any years. As for Saperstein, just another "...ism" in name only. He's a political power climber, but uses religion as his step ladder. When he learns to lie batter, he can run for election.

• When they said that this was a controversial choice I was like: "He is an atheist?!" Then she said he is a rabbi, and I was like... "okay so what?" Then she starting listing all this crazy nonsense and I was like: "Oh helllllll no!"

  To say that this man is unsuitable is to be too kind... what he heck?

  Seriously for a lawyer he is a dumb ass. He completely misrepresented the Hobby Lobby case and if he did it on purpose then he is evil.
