When the Editor was a young advertising copywriter, he was asked to give a speech about creativity. He called his first creative director and asked for some samples of funny radio commercials to play during the speech.
A few days later a box of tapes arrived along with a note that said, “It is almost Zen-like that you’re going to speak on that which you have not yet mastered.”
In a similar vein, Dear Leader’s weekly radio address to the nation focused on the need to reduce the nation’s deficit.
In the words of the late fiscal zen master Gary Coleman, “Whatchu talkin’ about, Barry?”
Right now, there are a lot of folks who are still struggling with the effects of the recession. They’re wondering how they’d deal with an unexpected expense if their car breaks down. They’re worried about layoffs. They’re not sure if they can help their kids pay for college. And for many families, these challenges were around long before the recession hit in 2007.
I ran for President because I believed in an America where ordinary folks could get ahead; where if you worked hard, you could have a better life. That’s been my focus since I came into office, and that has to be our focus now. It’s one of the reasons why we’re working to reduce our nation’s deficit. Government has to start living within its means, just like families do. We have to cut the spending we can’t afford so we can put the economy on sounder footing, and give our businesses the confidence they need to grow and create jobs.
“Government has to start living within its means, just like families do.”
Remember that this comes from a guy whose family ran up tremendous debts and hovered on the edge of bankruptcy until the money started rolling in from his first book.
We’d say this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but someone would surely accuse us of raaaacism for doing so.

Just political hype, more bs from bo.
I'll believe you when you and FLOTUS take your final bow upon the stage of this great nation...exit stage left!
OH! I forgive you Obummer...things are all square now! I believe you truly ARE looking out for the little guy....now where's my check?

When was the last time a budget was passed again Obama? I mean, I know that technically its congress's job to control the purse strings but as a leader that gets up and preaches about it, I'd think you would have been able to wrangle something out of them since you are a "light worker" and Jesus and all that sh1t.
He has as much credibility on this issue as a drug pusher does on how to be clean and sober.
This is the same guy who added $3 TRILLION to the national debt in a stimulus bill that was given primarily to the unions. He has no concept of what he's doing. But at least he's surrounding himself with others equally inept.
What are you talking about? His underlings are perfectly aware of what they are doing. I am being serious. Its just that they are not trying to help the country and all this crap is weird if you think they are. They know the titanic is sinking, his underlings are just trying to fill their pockets with the good silverware before making their way to the lifeboats. Media is the band still playing.
Time 1:38 he states, "tax breaks that benefit VERY few"....67,000 pages of tax code and a "VERY few" find loopholes per the Presidents words...is this really worthy of our focus?
Time 1:58 he states, "Oil & Gas companies pulling in huge profits without our help"...why is he still surprised that companies can function w/o Governments help? He still doesn't really truly believe it's a spending issue.
This is just the usual BS from a tax and spend liberal as elections near. Granted, Dinglebarry's election is over a year from now, but I expect he fears that the numbers of stupid people aren't nearly as large as 4 years ago.
In the words of IHTM's esteemed editor "What a bonehead."
