No humor here. Nary a laugh. We got this email from one of our readers in Iraq. He’s still there and he’s still fighting the bad guys, no matter what the President says:
What about the Combat units that Obama forgot out here? I say this not thirty minutes after returning from a mission into the red zone in Baghdad.
Last time I checked (let me look at the patch on my shoulder again), I belong to an Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and still roll outside the wire on missions almost every day, with on average three firearms (an M4 rifle, M9 pistol, and M240/M249 machine gun depending on the mission) in full body armor, in the turret of an MRAP, with over one thousand rounds of ammunition within easy reach.
If all the combat units/troops are out of Iraq, can we come home now? Were we forgotten?
I must withhold my name as per the law regarding soldiers speaking of such topics, but feel free to research a unit I can not confirm nor deny I belong to, but is also one of these forgotten units: the 256th IBCT national guard unit from Louisiana. If the war is over and we combat units are no longer needed/no longer here, why do I see Baghdad when I step outside my CHU? Why can’t I turn in my weapons and see my family again?

If they're shooting at you or trying to blow you up with IEDs, then it sounds like combat to me.

If it is not combat, then it must be safe. I for one feel that it would be a good thing to have Obama, Biden, Pelosi and about 300 other lawmakers travel over there for a fact finding mission. Call it project Yamamoto.
If it looks like combat, and it walks like combat, and it shoots at you like combat, it's combat. I'm sure the men and women on the ground in Iraq know the difference quite well. Obama, he just ways what the teleprompter tells him to say.
Oh, but you must be wrong, because the idiot in chief knows all and sees all, and he says we have no combat troops, only trainers and support people. Right. And there was no moon landing, and muslims aren't really hating on Americans. We support you. I lost 1 family member in Vietnam, and had another who was a POW for some 6 years. Please take care of yourself and your buddies. We want you home safe! Oh, And I agree with the comment saying keep your gun. Bring ammunition as well.
I say bring the MRAP home. Every police dept. in the country will be using those eventually to abuse their power. It would be nice to have one for "the good guys"

On somewhat of a side note....I think The Doors are the greatest American rock band of all-time. Followed by Skynyrd.
As for our Jump Shooter in Chief.....He is playing with words, cuz he is so smart and all. The soldiers know what they are doing there, even if the LameStreamMedia doesn't report what they are doing.

It's all good, but I do admire Skynyrd's putting their money where their mouth is in supporting the troops.
"The Unknown Soldier" by the Doors, how appropriate; it was appropriate forty years ago, it's apppropriate today. The American public and their families haven't forgotten our soldiers in Iraq but the MSM, the goons in Wahsington and Obama have; they've flushed them down the memory hole. Their suffering and sacrifices go by unnoticed, but if they make a mistake the same people who are ignoring them will come down on them like a ton of bricks.
Don't forget them, let them know we support them, we may need their skills here.
