Obama: We didn’t have “the luxury” for Michelle to not work. Well, few of us have the luxury to have a wife who “works” as a “vice president of community relations” at a Chicago (where else?) hospital, a job that was quietly eliminated when she left it. By the way Mr. President, a lot more of us are not working these days, thanks to your economic “ideas”, but few of those would consider it a “luxury.”

Neither of them has a license to practice. Obstensibly because they didn't want to pay for malpractice insurance and do all the stuff to maintain an active license.
Are you sure that is the reason, or is it that they don't want to be bound by the ethics and conduct rules of the legal profession?
Well, this is their story and I suppose they are sticking to it. They were unable/unwilling to continue to carry malpractive insurance, participate in continuing education (cause Lord knows they actually NEED that) and other such requirements to retain an active license. Or so the Bar filing says is the reason.

Well, I suppose that explains his budgeting troubles. They just couldn't make it on the meager $162,000.00/year he was pulling in.
I didn't have the luxury to not work either. But no one paid me 6 figures to sit in an office and take up space. I actually WORKED. HARD. For terrible hours and days for about $30,000 a tear for most of my career. Oh, and minimal or no benefits. Don't want to forget that part.

HAD a GOVERNMENT job. But for one week at a Baskin Robbins in high school and 4 weeks (behind enemy lines) at a law firm all government.
