Politifact readers pick “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” as the 2013 Lie of the Year. It got 59% of the vote (no other lie reached double digits.) “‘If you like your health care, you can keep it,’ will go down in history as Obama’s ‘Read my lips,’ ‘I’ve never had sexual relations,’ and ‘I am not a crook.’ ” Nah, it’s gonna be bigger than all of those put together; the sh*tstorm is just gettin’ started. Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • It's as much that it was the 2013 lie of the year, it's more that 2013 was the year of the lie.

  • What is very entertaining is the comments the Politifact readers made. Most admitted they voted for the Bullshit Artist of the Millennium. Mewling and sniveling that they were cancelled. I really enjoy listening to people whine about their misfortune after they do something incredibly stupid to cause it. Suck it up you gullible dolts.

  • I actually remember when Clinton said that he did not have sexual relations with that woman... Monica Lewinsky. I saw it as it happened on cable news. I was a kid and I remember believing him because there are always ho b*tches out there trying to destroy people's lives. Now Monica was still a ho b*tch but of course as we all know Clinton was a liar. All in all, that was the first time I knew that I could not trust the US Government and its officials. I was so dissapointed. I am not perfect, but surely we can and should expect more and expect better behavior from those that wish to lead (and should also hurry to serve) us. I never expected Obama to be a truthful person, but surely this was just an awful and stupid ass lie! I mean one can make the case that Clinton truly NEVER expected the truth to come out, but I mean once the law was going into effect, the truth was going to come out one way or another there was NO expectation that the truth wouldn't come out!

    THAT is what pisses me off. He must have known that what he said was a bold face lie that had NO WAY to be hidden. Unless he is stupid or extremely ignorant and just a sock puppet this was just insane. This is not the lie of the year this is the lie of the entire two terms and we still have a couple more years to go.

  • Man that's a hard one to pick, he's told so many lies, it's hard to pick which one is more liary than the next: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan," is a pretty good start. We're still peeling this onion f*** called Obama and I bet if we keep at it we'll find all sorts of neat shit!
