Prison hunger strikers now number 12,000, advocates say. “Inmates agreed to start eating three weeks into the initial strike in July in exchange for warm hats, wall calendars and a promise from prison officials to reconsider the isolation regulations.” They may have stumbled on to their own solution to the overcrowded prisons – or at least save the taxpayers some cash on meals. Televise it live and take bets on who drops first! One question remains… who needs a warm hat in July in California?

Again who cares what happens to these people. Knowing the Kalifornia prison system most of them would kill your grandmother for her last two bucks. If they don't want to eat, feed there lunch to the homeless bums who sit on the freeway ramps all day. The inmates can eat shit on a shingle for all I care. They got more rights than the victims they raped, robbed and murdered. about one third are illegal aliens. If they starve to death, good for us, we got more room in prison for the next POS. After they assume room temperature, give them a pine box and bill the family.
Given the cost of food and California's huge budget deficit, why would the state ever give in? Oh, wait...it's California. Never mind.
