Turns out Rachel’s upset about what she calls “fake court, off-shore tribunals.” You know, the kind that have been held for hundreds of years, the kind that have been approved by the Supreme Court. In other words, the kind liberals hate most.
Maddow: “That sort of tells you everything you need to know about how the beltway sees the relationship between the Democratic party and the Democratic party’s base …But a Democratic president kicks his base in the teeth on something as fundamental as civil liberties, he puts the nail in coffin of a civil liberties promise he made on his first full day in office and does it on the first day of his reelection effort? The beltway reaction to that is, good move … That’s the difference between Republican politics and Democratic politics.

Simple answer is this, people like Madcow, O'Donnell, Schultz, Matthews, Cenk, Mika, Olbermann, & other progressive socialists don't have any standards. As long as they feel they can/will benefit, they will go along with whatever. The best standard is the double standard, & it is what socialism is all about. Socialism is for the people, not the socialist. So when you see idiots spouting about how we need to be more progressive & socialist as a society, ask yourself if those people will live by the rules they wish to impose. They almost never do.
Hell, they won't even put themselves under the same healthcare program they want to force on us. Does anyone really expect them to live by the rest of their agenda? I'm already one of the people exempted from the healthcare scam, but I'll still have to pay more taxes to provide healthcare for all the illegal aliens and the rest of those who will receive, but not pay for, lousy quality healthcare.

A few of the exteme Lefties will whine about Obama's "betrayal" of his promise to end military tribunals for terrorists but the Democrat base will say nothing, just as they said nothing about the bombing of Libya, the surge in Afghanistan, Keeping Gitmo open, expanded Predator attacks, leaving the Patriot Act intact, etc. (everything candidate Obama promised to end in 2008). They're such hypocrites and it shows that the "anti-war" movement of 2003-2008 was really an unprincipled anti-Bush movement.
It's no coincidence that the decision to try KSM in Gitmo rather than New York City was made on the day Obama announced that he was running for reelection
in 2012. Team Obama knows that the proposed NYC trial is wildly unpopular and might cost The One votes in 2012. Moving the trial to Gitmo was strictly a political decision.
So Maddow can rant and rave, nobody watches her anyway. Strangly, I respect her opposition to Obama's decision, she's a loon but she's a consistent loon.
