• Chicago is taking the Seven Step Program that has ruined so many other great American cities: 1) permanent Democrat rule, 2) corrupt, greedy public employee unions, 3) a collapsed public school system run by leftists and staffed by incompetent, unionized teachers, 4) rampant crime, 5) ever higher taxes, 6) a functionally illiterate, welfare dependent, lower class, 7) middle class and business flight. It worked in Detroit, Flint, Compton and East St. Louis and it will work in Chicago, eventually it will be tried on a statewide basis, think California and Illinois.

• What's up with the trojans at Breitbart? Anybody else get virus issues there?

  • They have been attacked several times in the past few months. It seems there are some people working diligently to silence Breitbart and anyone that supports the Liberty he did.

  That almost makes me sad.

• Wife and I moved from the city, specifically to avoid sending our kids to CPS-the best school they have, with the highest test grades is still only 75% of the test average as the worst schools in the burbs.
  And...CPS teachers union has a yearly "Marxism In the Classroom" weekend retreat/meeting whereby they share ways to inject marxism into their curriculum...The People's Republic of Illinois is best served if the leftist swine are segregated to chicago proper. Although, its not much better in the burbs-but the schools out here are at least not Marxist Madrassas like downtown

• Now that is a great way to keep the murder rate down-don't let gang-bangers congregate at educational institutions-and of course, so much for the kids that get fucked when their schools close down. Sort of like the gun issue-great way to keep guns from being used-just make them go away........nice work by the ballet dancer!

• So, Rahm's off skiing and shutting down the schools for the poor. Where's Nancy "But what about the CHILDREN?" Pelosi? See it now, you ignorant fools - all the talk about the poor & the children is just hogwash and YOU fell for it. We didn't.

• Next week, the mayor will release statistics indicating the literacy rate of Chicago students rose an average of 61.35%. ;-)

• I mentioned before I went to Lane Tech in Chicago. When I went there ('87-91) it was considered THE top high school in the city. A few of my teachers were fantastic. Even inspirational. Most were there to collect a paycheck. I can just imagine if the bar was set by my school (drug busts, gangs, a murderer suicide) how horrible these schools must be. It's kind of funny that my Mom was worried about me being a bartender because she thought it wasn't safe while she was still teaching in this very system. I recently mentioned this to her(she just retired after 43 years) and she told me that she used to want me to be a teacher and now is so glad I didn't. I guarentee even with 54 schools closing, there are at least 3 times as many that should be shut down.

• I saw this story on one of the local TV stations tonight, That fat angry woman that heads the teachers union was being interviewed and was spitting as she was talking about how "unfair" it was for the children and the mayor was on a ski vacation and left town after he made the announcement. The whole city is run by idiots and drama queens....They need another cow to knock over a lamp.

• I would say this is shocking, but since something like 95% of the students in Chitcago never make it past the 8th grade, they can close all the high schools and 1/2 the middle schools, and nobody but the teacher's union would notice.
