Rare bird last seen in Britain 22 years ago reappears – only to be killed by wind turbine in front of a horrified crowd of birdwatchers. Can you imagine the protests if this bird had been asphyxiated by coal fumes?

This is as funny as the story Limbaugh tells about the sea otter that was released to great fanfare with school kids watching and was snarfed up by a killer whale. Ah, humor.
Now that's a good real life natural sciences teachable moment right there.
LOTS of birds are getting killed by these worthless monstrosities. And bats. A year and half ago I used the term "giant Cuisinart for birds and bats": http://jpattitude.com/111210.php
Windmills are just plain stupid unless you live on an island with no electricity service.
It's terrible that the raptors are being killed in the thousands BUT the worst thing is the millions of bats being killed. This is going to be an ecological disaster of unintended consequences. I foresee huge crop losses when the billions of insects that the bats eat go unchecked.
My basic rule that has yet to be disproved is that if a leftist has a plan it will be a disaster.
Not to mention the illness that the mosquitos will spread once there are no bats to eat them.
We have a lot of wind farms in New Mexico, especially on the eastern plains. We also have golden eagles, several species of hawks, owls, ducks, snow geese, all kinds of birds and all of them on the protected species list. A friend of mine works as a maintainence man on the windmills located about 20 miles from my house, as the crow flies, and he told me they do nothing if a bird gets smacked. They are not required to report it, check for tags, nothing, just let the coyotes have them. And a lot of birds are killed each year. there are 185 towers scattered over 30 miles of pasture.
New Mexico also has a lot of gas and oil fields, mainly in the southeast part of the state. If one of the billion or so sparrows shitting all over the place is found dead near a well or storage tank and you would think the world is coming to an end. The hypocracy of the left astounds me, and pisses me off, to no end.
As long not a drop of evil oil got on the bird the left will be fine with this.
These turbines kill all kinds of things but the deaths are ignored and windmills still worshiped by the lefty AGW believers. Similar to how the communists great ideas, such as the cultural revolution, killed millions and the murders are ignored the same way.
No kidding, I put this up over on the Mail:
Am I bad man for laughing at this so hard I could p myself?
And for wondering what the reaction from the Collaborationist Media would be if this thing had hit by an SUV instead?
/Driven by an American tourist?
//With George Bush and NRA bumper stickers?
Ain't that the morbid truth!
This is the funniest thing I've read in weeks. It's almost as if Monty Python got together for one last sketch.
At least the bird died a green death.
I spewed my coffee out my nose! Had to check to see if it was from the Onion.
