Ronaldus Magnus Day. The Great Man Day. Or maybe just keep it simple and call it Reagan Day. Call it what you want, the American people like the idea as much as Chris Matthews will hate it.

Rasmussen has details of Reagan Day:
George Washington is the only U.S. president who is officially honored with a federal holiday, but given a list of some of America’s most influential other past presidents, more than one-in-four Americans choose Ronald Reagan as the one if another were to be recognized with a holiday. John F. Kennedy comes in second.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 27% of American Adults believe Reagan should be chosen if there were another federal holiday celebrating a past president. Twenty percent (20%) pick Kennedy. Fourteen percent (14%) say Thomas Jefferson should be recognized with a holiday, while nine percent (9%) think Franklin D. Roosevelt deserves it most.
Just two percent (2%) prefer Theodore Roosevelt, and four percent (4%) opt for some other president. Twenty-three percent (23%) are undecided.
Of course, the poll is slightly unfair because Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama are already honored each year on April 1.

I have no problem with a holiday to honor the best President we had in the 20th century. I do have a problem with gooberment employees being the only people to get the day off. If such a proposal happens the holiday should be like Memorial or Labor Day, the second Monday in August for example. That way most Americans could have the day off instead of just those with their snouts stuck into the public pig trough.
Deb, have you ever taken a good close look at the logo on a box of Arm And Hammer? (Armand Hammer was a huge turn of century commie in this country and made sure that ten percent of his profit and net worth went to the CPUSA.) Just think, every box of baking powder you buy, or cat litter, or dish soap, with that logo aywhere on the item, you're giving 10 cents of every dollar you spent to purchase that item (what ever is is) to the Communist Party! Think about that next time you're at Walmart!
You are delusional. Try getting your facts straight before you post. Arm And Hammer the brand has nothing to do with Armand Hammer, the communist.
Deb, as far as I am concerned...as it stands right now...you're right, I am delusional! I checked OXY/Occidental Petroleum corporate family records going back to 1957, the year Armand Hammer became CEO and found no corporate reference to Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the Arm & Hammer parent company. I found out a lot more than I wanted to know about either company. I grew up around Occidental Oil and Chemical, they have a large facility in Bakersfield, CA., my home town until 1998. You and Mr. Editor seem to right...no big conspiracy here...maybe later. I stand, oh so corrected. I'll make sure to do a better job of sifting out the urban legend next time. I guess I can start buying Arm & Hammer products again.
:))) All is forgiven! Research is a valuable thing. Wouldn't want you descending into the liberal realm of making up stories, or propagating those others made up!
Thanks for being so understanding.
Hisham - that's an old wives' tale. Here's the Wikipedia explanation of why it's not true:
The Arm & Hammer logo dates back to the 1860s. James A. Church ran a spice business known as Vulcan Spice Mills. According to the company, the Arm and Hammer logo represents Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and metalworking.
It is often claimed, incorrectly, that the brand name originated with tycoon Armand Hammer, who owned a considerable amount of Church and Dwight stock in the 1980s and served on its board of directors. The Arm & Hammer brand was in use some 31 years before Hammer was born, leading some to speculate that things were actually the other way around and Hammer's father named him after the brand.
I appreciate your skeptisism and I will attempt to offer support for my post.
we can use wikipedia here? Hmm, i've heard otherwise
Nice bit of history though
You've heard otherwise? We usually preface any use of Wikipedia with "Of course, remember that it's Wikipedia." Wikipedia is good for lots of things, but it should always be taken with a grain of salt. I believe this particular entry because I was aware that Arm & Hammer was an old brand that pre-dated that vile old Communist sympathizer Armand Hammer.
Well, i was specifically rebutted when i used a link regarding National Debt data, on the merits of wikipedia alone. I responded with a Conservapedia link, to no avail
Before we combined holidays, there was a holiday for Washington and one for Lincoln. They have been combined into Presidents' (plural) day to honor both. Just like we had to change Armistice day to Veteran's day after several more conflicts. And Decoration day became Memorial day. And May day vanished altogether thanks to the communists making it a day for workers. Ever wonder why Union color is red? Yeppers, many early unions were started buy communists. Americans, but communists none the less.
I got my reagan stamps I am going to keep some and use the rest. They are awesome!
We don't need another day off for government workers.
How about a compromise? We'll create a federal holiday honoring Reagan, but we'll celebrate it by firing any government worker that doesn't show up to work that day.
You know, my friend, one would hope that everyone reading your post would say to themselves, "NO-BRAINER!" But, then again, I'm not a progressive liberal (maggot). So ... sorry!
Back out quiet ...
