Oh, these wacky religious fanatics and their competing visions of the end of the world as we know it. Whose version of the Rapture is correct?
SFist.com presents the first religious fanatic’s vision of the Rapture:

Outside Harold Camping’s Alameda house at 6:01 p.m. on Sunday, very little (save a cloud of shame and regret) hung over the false prophet’s abode where he and his family waited for the rapture. Camping had used numerology and The Bible to make a proclamation that he and his Family Radio followers would be beamed to heaven at 6:00 p.m. on May 21.
CNS News presents the other religious fanatic’s vision:
In his commencement speech at Hamilton College on Sunday, former Vice President Al Gore told the graduates that global warming is “the most serious challenge our civilization has ever faced.”
Far as we’re concerned, one religious wacko is just as bad as another. We vote for “None of the above.”

i am sick of the end of the world fanatics and with the recent incident's in miami and new jersey i hope something good come's out of this but all the media care's about is negativity and more negativity bye i hate the apocalypse bye
God's version is correct, not humans. No MAN knows the day or the hour of the return of Christ. It is a supprise to both believers and an 'oh crap' (see Independance Day movie) to non-believers.
I'm cool with a thumbs down from you, RHG. We've posted along side for a while. And, you've shared your opinion about my belief. You and I have the honor of telling the truth as we believe, unlike Camping and Sir Sweats A Lot. Peace to you
This is a world without end, as written in the Bible. End of the world has been misenterpreted from 'end of the age'. No man has the knowledge of the day of the 'rapture', a term not found in scripture, but an event. Only the Father knows. If people knew and trusted the Word of God, they would not be led astray by false prophets.
You don't have to know the word of God to avoid the false prophets. I'm a devout agnostic, and I knew Camping was a liar. So is AlGore.
At least Wacko #1 solicits voluntary donations to enrich his own bank account. Wacko #2 wants government to seize the money by force through increased taxes, so he can become enriched. But that is where the differences pretty much end.
That is true. Only idiots took all of their money out of banks and investments in order to give it to the rapture dude. He didn't use government to subsidize his greed and craziness. Overall that is one good reason to not be so upset with him as in the end he is not a threat to every day people and their stability/lives. He is a greedy bastard and the idiots that follow him need medication, but whatever that is their problem.
Gore though by usurping the role of government and making it a priest to weak ass gaia, is trying to ruin everyone's lives and liberties. I got a problem with that, because it affects us all.
Voluntary, compulsory. Big difference there, eh?
Environmentalism is a religion, however it is not a religion of peace nor is it a religion of common sense. It is based on POSSIBLE destruction UNLESS we pay the priests and government enough money AND give up our lives in order to protect gaia. Gaia is a weak ass deity if she needs Al Gore and Co to stand up for her.
As for the other nutcase, no one is going to outsmart an Universal Deity who controls and created everything. When He is ready to return He will, no human is going to control time and space to make it happen.
Harold Camping: bringing the world to an end since 1994!
Al Gore: banging the world's economy in the end since 1991!
Repent! The end is nigh!
This message of despair brought to you by the Church of Warmingology.
When it does come, these so called preachers will hear "Depart from me, you doers of evil and ennicwadey”. It’s all about money with them and that is it. Ray Stevens said it best. “Would Jesus wear a Rolex on his TV SHOW?”
...and furthermore, would he bone Jessica Hahn?
Al Gore is the most serious challenge our civilization has ever faced.
