Could the timing of this announcement have anything to do with the recent UAW loss at the Mercedes plant? It definitely makes Alabama look like a good place to start a business!
It's a strange thing: people keep moving out of liberal states to escape the dysfunctionality but they insist on bringing their liberal ideas with them. I watched this in Nevada for years. Reno is full of Californians who fled the mess, but then when they get to Nevada they start lobbying for gay marriage, income taxes, and all the other crap that ruined their previous home.
I wish Remington would move their business and leave their employees behind. Hire Alabamans.

I kinda fell in love with Elko the one time I was there for some reason. I mean I couldn't describe why, it just is.
Elko is fun. I went hunting i the Ruby Mountains south of there. 3.5 hour ride on a horse. Beautiful up there. It got so cold one night a 0 degree mummy bag was about useless.
Eventually, I'll get out there to bowhunt (I run an Archery blog and shoot semi-pro archery for a couple of companies) but between the inflation that the administration INSISTS hasn't happened (yeah, but they don't have to pay for their own food at the WH) gas prices, etc. that isn't in the budget anytime soon.
I like Reno, Sorry about all the assholes from Kalifornia...Perhaps a border checkpoint, they can visit and spend money but can not move to Reno?

That Weasel Cuomo will just come out and spend a shitload of taxpayer money on ads touting how business friendly his state is, while businesses are climbing over each other to reach the exits first.

In crazy land , 2 part time minimum wage workers , at say the future marijuana dispensary , will be more valuable to the State than 1 good paying job .

Just wait - I can already see the Democrats trying to find a way to PREVENT businesses from moving out of their states. They'll probably use tax regulation instead of legislation, calling it 'failure to maintain tax status' or some bullshit.

Sorry, said it on another thread, but I'm tired and in a mood... but you just made me laugh, thanks flash. Years ago when the youngest girl was 13 or so I got exasperated because she didn't understand the Cold War and Berlin Wall. (because she didn't learn it in skool)
Not irritated at her, mad because I couldn't explain it well enough to help her understand and put it into perspective. The line I finally came up with was, "You tell me why we have to build fences and patrol our borders to monitor who comes here (basically keep people out) and they had to build walls, fences and (yes) minefields to keep people in?
She did some research such as it was at the time and I believe her words were, "My God, I didn't know."
Just as an aside, looking back before I submit, at the time she visited while I was watching clips of Reagan's "tear down this wall" (still gives me chills) on the anniversary, and a cool video timeline of the fall of the wall and asked questions. I was shocked she had no clue.
