You’d think that “I was in Vietnam” scandal would have taught newly-elected Senator Richard Blumenthal a lesson, but no such luck. The Connecticut Democrat continues to give himself unwarranted pats on the back.
The CTMirror reports Blumenthal’s latest creative efforts:
Nine months after his campaign was staggered by reports that he had incorrectly claimed to have served in Vietnam, Sen. Richard Blumenthal made what seemed to be a similar misstatement Tuesday, putting himself at the center of the action in the historic 1973 Supreme Court case that legalized abortion.
“I’m new to the Senate but I’m not new to this battle,” Blumenthal said at a Capitol Hill news conference, his first since taking office. “Since the days of Roe v. Wade, when I clerked for Justice Blackmun, as a state legislator, as attorney general, I have fought this battle.”
The problem is, Blumenthal clerked for Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun in 1974, the year after Blackmun wrote the Roe v. Wade decision.
Blumenthal’s slip might not normally generate much attention or scrutiny. But it comes on the heels of an election that focused in part of revelations that Blumenthal made similar misstatements about his Vietnam-era military service.
Upcoming Blumenthal lies: He was the first soldier ashore on D-Day. He was supposed to fly on Apollo 13, but had to study that weekend. He taught Donald Trump everything he knows about real estate. He invented the internet. And, finally, he once spent a wild weekend with Angelina Jolie.
There. That should get Blumenthal through the rest of 2011.

My understanding is that he was also part of the The Manhattan Project, he was really the one behind the Theory of Relativity, he knows the location of the fountain of youth which is obvious looking at his oh so handsome and so youthful face (seriously botox much?)
He has a problem. A serious problem. It is scary he is in government making decisions for so many people, he should not be in government.
When he held that press conference to "apologize" for saying he was IN 'Nam and instead did the usual "Hey, the starting line is over HERE, dipwads, and see, it proves I'm RIGHT" I remember my jaw dropped.
But when it was treated as "Hmm, maybe he has a point" I knew it just didn't matter. I can just imagine how the good people of Ct. felt when they were unable to defeat him - I got stuck with Reid!!!
Sadly this is the state of affairs that has become the state i have lived in all of my life...the people's republic of CT-Stan, which is seemingly on a daily basis becoming more and more like the Soviet Union.
The GOP had zero balls when it picked Linda McMahon to go against Blumenthal. Now if they know their stuff, with Lieberman not seeking re-election, they will send Peter Schiff up against the many of the globalist left-wing of this state.
How dare you challenge the words of an elected democrat politician? Are you going to believe what comes out of his mouth or what is written in history?

BTW, when I made intentional "misstatements" of fact to my parents or teachers while growing up, I was punished. Back then we had a colloquial term for it. It was called "lying".

Navyvet, you just hit the problem. Beck has been saying for how long that "the truth does'nt matter"? It is true, the MSM will treat as fact almost anything said by Dems, no matter how nutty. Despite the fact people can go online, go to YouTube, & see for themselves what was said, & then denied, or their story changes, the old guard MSM "elites" go along with the template. If the facts don't conform with history as a liberal/progressive sees it, history must be changed through revisionism.
