Judges should have the authority to jail lawyers and the clients for bringing cases like this into the court system. Two strikes and disbar the lawyer while we're at it.
Should have used a heavier chair, end of problem. Sadly theirs plenty of Ambulance Chasers around however, hoping to make a name for themselves.
Even if the good guy had beaten her son to death, he was armed with a gun and a knife. Nobody wants to allow him the opportunity to use either one of them. The mon is fortunate she was not called to the Corner's Office for identification.
The fact that someone beat up a robber with a gun and "got away with it" gives me some hope for American culture. Now if we can just apply the same culture into the media and the schools.

If this had happened in Britain, the Samaritan would be looking at jail time and the robber would be collecting a damage award. Hopefully, even California is not Britain yet.
This POS mommy was on the news last night saying that there was no reason for the good guy to beat up her son like that, even though he has a gun and a knife in the video when he goes to rob the place..They had a lawyer on after mommy spouted off her stupidity and he basically said "good luck with that" and the Fresno County Sheriff said that was the dumbest thing he ever heard, Oh and mr bad guy is still in jail..he can't make bail.
