Student suspended for keychain

gun keychain

Student suspended for keychain. “…a seventh-grade student in Coventry [RI] public schools has been suspended for three days after his friend took a two-inch keychain shaped as gun from his backpack.” He shoulda just told the teacher the keychain symbolizes his fight against global warming in doorlocks – anyone this dumb is sure to believe it.

  • With the anti-second amendment crusade the liberals have going on, soon even mentioning the word gun will be cause for expulsion.

  • I've got to side with the school on this one, though i don't agree with their disciplinary action. It is clearly spelled out in the rules and yes, they do make guns that small that can hurt or kill you. Both students should have been sent to the office. The one who took the keychain from the kid's pack should have been disciplined for stealing and causing a disruption. The kid who brought the keychain should have been counseled and reminded that school rules prohibit such items on campus. His parents should have been called and send the kid home for the rest of the day and call it done. The rule states that he can be expelled for up to one year, but doesn't specify a minimum disciplinary action. We don't know if this kid has a history of trouble making or not and this could have been the final straw as it were, for other infractions and warnings.

  • Zero tolerance is zero common sense. If it had been a condem or an aborted child in some type of container, the school system would've sang their praises.

  • That is not a friend as far as I am concerned. People need to calm down. Talk to the kid and to the parents suspending him when there is no reason to is stupid to me.

    • The beauty of all this is that it has to be stupid to the kids too... I would wager that one of the most effective antidotes to brainwash is the propagandizing agent practicing overreach- the "key" (sorry, couldn't resist) is to ensure that young folks are properly educated as to the nature of this. Practice this very stupid form of zero tolerance on teens and pre-teens and you cultivate the next generation of counterculture.

The progs own hubris could very well be their own undoing. Hopefully the "friend" gets a civics lesson via ass kicking.

  • Clearly (to me anyway), the Department of Education is forcing a policy of conditioning kids to be afraid of guns so that banning them will be a snap in a generation or so from now. Progressives are pragmatic like that.

    • HOW:
"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."

"Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever."

      WHY:
"One man with a gun can control 100 without one."

      WHO:
      Vladimir Lenin

The plan is simple and they never vary. It is we that have let our nation slip away.
