President Obama gave a speech last week in which he quoted the Declaration of Independence. Sort of. He made a small, but telling edit.
The Founding Fathers’ version: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”
President Obama’s version: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”
Hmmmm. Strange edit for a self-professed Christian, would you not agree?
