I don't care WHO TF makes something like that, ANYBODY bringing a contraption like that into a public place deserves to be checked out, whether your name is Achmed Mohammed, Paddy Maloney, or Shinji Ikari.
We live in a time when a kid gets suspended for making a pop tart look like a gun, what the hell did they think was going to happen when some kid shows up with a timer in a box?
Apples and oranges. Ahmed has Muslim privilege on his side. So while he may have had to endure a few hours of being treated like any other kid the next few months/years will be a roller coaster ride of free gadgets, trips to The White House, Space Camp, Facebook, Google, Disney World and probably a fully paid for college education. Not too shabby for a teenager whose aptitude is more befitting a kid in the elementary grades than one in high school.
Good point, the son of a goat herder just got his free ticket to MIT, all on the public dime of course.
Listen, this was a set up. The kid was used by his parents or some other radical Muslim to test the waters and mimic being a victim. CAIR getting involved in the first ten minutes should be a clue. If you look at the picture of that monstrosity he cobbled together, it's not a clock. This kid is in high school and supposedly considers himself an inventor. What kind of inventor sodders together a two foot wide tangle-of-wires CLOCK? It's pathetic. I have a grandkid in elementary school who coded himself a camera that he uses to check on his grandparents' well-being over the Internet. And this high school "inventor" made a CLOCK? Gimme a break. Even factoring in the extraordinary backwardness of the average Muslim, a CLOCK? Obama has just made a fool of himself. Again.

Nowhere he said he build the clock in order to satisfy extra credit given to him by the teachers or to satisfy the build whatever you like assignment given to him by a teacher. No. This was something that he did on his own volition to SHOW OFF his magnificence... :-/ Nah! This entire thing was indeed contrived.
My Brother won college scholarships after inventing a robot, I don't remember exactly what the robot did now this was year ago when he was high school, but it certainly wasn't a clock. However even if it was a complex invention or discovery of some kind, he shows that off to someone that actually cares and can do something for him, not a random teacher in high school, and especially not if it wasn't a homework assignment. The NASA t-shirt is also part of the whole trying to reach out to Muslim thing that was said years ago by an idiot.

I agree. I give the kid the benefit of the doubt on being involved in the scam -sure he was condescending, smug and evasive, but so are are many teenagers and once authorities start violating your due process rights some umbrage (while maybe not helpful) is not unjustified- but I don't think it far-fetched to consider that he was aware of the scam from the beginning. That being said I want to reiterate that there is a strong possibility this whole thing was a scam and that it was orchestrated by his father (whom I think we will discover over the next few days is the social justice warrior equivalent of a an ambulance chaser) for the purposes of shaking down some money and a much better future for a kid that -judging by his laughable "science project"- seemly hardly remarkable in any way. And it seems to have worked. This kid will likely get a free college education out of this, no professor will ever give him a bad grade for fear of being labeled a bigot, no company will refuse to hire him, no manager will refuse to give him the promotions and pay-raises as they come available. If Pop-tart kid had done this it would have been the worst day of his life, but because of this guys special privilege it will likely be one of the best days of his.
His interview with media with his family in the background was cringe worthy as to call it staged, forced, and contrived would be an understatement.

The more I look at that clock the more I think he might have just gutted a digital alarm clock, made a change or two and then put it in a briefcase.
Good observation. I just saw the picture and it looks nothing like a clock but that could have been the intent of the photographer to make a point. What is not debatable (to me) is CAIR and the media were waiting in the wings to exploit the situation. They played the hyper-sensitive school administrators knowing full well they would overreact. Obama, being the Muslim sympathizer, is only too eager to play his part.
I was thinking the very same thing (and posted about it) concerning his skill. Of course I did build a radio that looked about as sloppy as that once, but I was 9 or 10 at the time.
Okay, everyone who wants to meet President Fecal Top. Make a clock that looks like a timer for a bomb and get arrested, then you will get a one way trip to see President Fecal Top and the First Wookie...Imagine how many kids and young adults are building one as we speak...

One of the people in the article asked "Were you pulled out of a zoo and given a paycheck?" when talking about the school officials. I'm thinking whoever said this hit on the truth.

I think the school and police over reacted here, well I can understand some teacher that didn't know any better getting worried over what looked like a prop from 24, but what bothers me almost as much as the race card being played from the bottom of the deck is all this nonsense about the kid being a genius. Obviously it isn't his fault for the way he is being portrayed, but have we really got to the point in this country when a 14 year old building this sloppy mess is considered a genius? If so we might as well stop putting off the inevitable and just pre-emptively surrender to China now.
Did the kids involved in the incidents I listed in the other thread visit the President? No? That's what I thought.
