Interesting article. "He (Bush) was easy to like." Liberals never did understand that part of the reason Bush beat Gore and Kerry was personality. He had and has a pleasing one they didn't and don't. I'll never forget Gore's arrogant, boorish sighing during one of their debates. The caricature of Bush and Reagan as stupid is lazy thinking on the part of the left.
Do you remember when Gore walked over and got in Bush's space during one their debates? I laughed my ass off at Bush's facial expression as he looked Gore up and down with a WTF? look.
The other debate moment that comes to mind was when Kerry accused Bush of being in the pocket of "big lumber" and Bush shrugged it off saying something to the effect of it being news to him that he had lumber interests and then added: "Anybody wanna buy some wood?". It was a Johnny Carson quality deadpan delivery. Again, I laughed my ass off.

Yes. That was strange! I think Gore was trying to intimidate the supposedly inexperienced Bush. I remember one of the debates where it seemed like Gore was on tranquilizers, his personality was so flattened. Liberals have to act like they're more moderate during debates as they try to pretend that they share the values of Middle America and so there can be a tin quality to their performances. The actors Clinton and Obama are quite good at this though.

This does not suprise me at all. Harrington may register as a Democrat but, personally, I think he is more of an Independent. I have found all his articles to be fair, with a lot of insight into whoever, or whatever he was writing about.
So, what you're telling me is Olivia would call him a right winger.
