The Editor’s back from vacation

oh no

The Administrator and I hadn’t had a vacation in the two and a half years since IHTM was born. So Mrs Editor and I took the last two weeks off. We flew to Seattle, then drove across Washington, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and back via Wyoming and Oregon.

We visited the Little Big Horn Memorial, Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, ran across a herd of buffalo that blocked the road in South Dakota, saw moose in Wyoming, had a giant family reunion in Montana, and fell in love with Boise.

I’d like to thank our regular gang of miscreants for pitching in and keeping IHTM up and running while I was gone – Kip Hooker, Perlcat, J.P. Travis, Bonfire of the Absurdities, Sven Waring and Patrick Michael (in no particular order). Thanks, guys. The Administrator and I really appreciate your help.

  • That is awesome! I myself just came back from vacay, it is so important to get away. I hope that enjoyed it and that you do make plans to go away every year at least once a year working non-stop is not good for anyone.

        • Fweetness is the troll who thumbs and runs, we also have Precious and Sweethips. Fweetness thumbs the most, Sweethips the least. So first thumb down on a "regular's" post is Fweetness, second is Precious, and the very rare third is Sweethips.

          • If your get both Fweetness and Precious, offer them some tea. That might be enough to draw out Sweethips. ;)

    • Part of the reason I took off for a while was not work related, it was because we had a family reunion celebrating my parents 60th anniversity this past weekend and I needed to be rested up for it!

75 family members, 7 generations worth ranging in age from 1 to 90 years old, throw in a few close family friends who came by to say hello and stayed for lunch, and you can imagine what kind of circus we had around the old homestead. It was a lot of fun but I swear it will take me a week to get over it, I'm still tired!

      • That is awesome Whiskey! I am glad to see you.

Interestingly enough I also had family reunions and party after party after party. My aunt and her husband had a 50th wedding anniversary and that was awesome. My grandmother met her first great great granddaughter which was just like wow. It is so sad to know that people that live together for so long and make it work are becoming extinct and it is a nice thing to see it.

It seems the stupid troll is still active and as petty as ever. How pathetic.

      • Sounds like fun! Congradulations on your parents, 60 years is incredible!
Does this mean your back? I hope so, becasue I missed your comments , dont think I didnt notice they have been few and far in between! :)

      • Thanks RHG, DRB and Baby! I missed you and the site too and I am glad to be back. I did have a good time. I have no idea though why some hater put thumbs down on your posts :-/. It is so petty and stupid. It is probably the troll. Maybe Soros is not providing vacays for his army of trolls...

  • Damn! I decided to take a break, some badly needed rest and relaxation was needed, and you left at the same time. Must be karma or some other such nonsense.

All kidding aside, glad ya'll had a good time and welcome back.

  • Back from Pirate's Cove so early? ("The Cove" is the nudist beach, for San Luis Obispo, at least it was!) I hope you don't put up photos of your sun burn!
"Miscreant"... That is the NICEST thing anyone has called me in a long time!

    • Oh that's a nasty place! Hang out for old lesbians and queers to play naked beach volley-ball and ogle any little kids unfortunate enough to have walked down the concrete steps without parental supervision!

  • Welcome home! I didn't know you were gone, the guys did such a good job of taking care of things. I hope your use them again the next time you two want to take a break. Next time, go to Aruba!

  • Back in 2000 when I visited Custer St Park in SD, a bunch of wild donkeys which roam the park accosted me and demanded my pretzels. I couldn't have known the incident was a portent of the Obama years.

      • Smarter, too. When my bag of pretzels was empty, they moved on to somebody else. Unlike Obama, they had sense enough to see when something wasn't working and try something new.

        • Obama is still rummaging for crumbs in the bottom of your pretzel bag. When he empties it, he'll move on.

  • Dear Editor,

This site is entirely too biased in "right wing rhetoric." Olivia and I have been conversing back and forth on match.com and I truly feel I am more educated in governmental affairs. I would appreciate a chance to share my newly reclaimed opinion, as net neutrality guarantees that every website should have a 50/50 split between displaying articles of fiscal and social sanity with fiscal and social insanity. I can only promise my articles will be filled with "parroted Rush Limbaugh talking points" or "parroted right wing rhetoric hate filled speech." If you are willing to let me post an article or two, or just need an educated Libertarian to post his poverty-driven opinion, feel free to reach me at avatarius.bishop@us.army.mil

  • 2 weeks ago huh? You guys came out to the great NW just at the right time....after a solid year behind clouds, the sun finally reared it's ugly head just about 2 weeks ago, forcing all the pastey, sunken-eyed, mostly left-leaning libro-tards to skulk away under rocks to hide.

Well played. Please come again, maybe your the lucky charm

    • It was rainy, cold and cloudy for the first four days we were in Seattle, sunny and beautiful everywhere else, rainy and cold our last day when we returned to Seattle. But we did see a lot of those pasty liberals while we were there.

  • I must admit that the substitute crew did a bang up job.
Perlcat wrote an awesome editorial about why we don't want a balanced budget amendment, and still had time to slap Oblivious around!
You're going to enjoy being back.

  • Dear Editor, yeah whatever - look I orient my entire pitiful life around coming to this website regularly so I can get my blood boiling and take on disease minded liberals day in and day out. I routinely bury them. Even my kids can recognize one now. The day Obama is out of office you can lather yourself in zinc oxide and sit on the beach for six months (I'll pay half) but until then sit your ass there and keep pecking away - I need more ammo.

    • No kidding! I've been to all those places and they have internet. Ever heard of a laptop or ipad? You can do this job with either of those and an internet connection. Since baker is gonna pony up half, I'll pay for the zinc oxide and pitch in another $19 when the job is officially done.... ;P

    • Hey, give these guys and their ladies a break. Can you imagine how gut-wrenching their job is, searching out and actually reading, watching, and listening to these America-hating liberals, just so we can get it all right here in one place to make fun of? It's a tough job, and I'm amazed they were able to do it for 2 1/2 years without dying of heartburn.

Glad you had such a good trip, and I hope you spread some wealth around the good people of those states.

  • While you were gone a gang of elderly terrorists hijacked the government, according to the NY Times and others, and forced Harry Reid, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell to play a game of strip poker with the US credit rating as the stakes. President Obama thought they were playing blind man's bluff, so he was kidnapped by members of the "Tea Party Taliban" and prevented from taking part in the final hand of poker. The Tea Party are now offering to pay the Democrats several billion dollars in reverse ransom the take the President back, but even Democrats aren't that stupid. In other words, you didn't miss anything that wouldn't have made you sick.

    • Every word of it is true, mostly. The undercurrent discussions indicate a high probability of success with that reverse ransom initiative. It has a real... check that... It has a truly fantastic plot key which 'enables the people' to print a shipload more cash. Several billion dollars can be overlooked and undercooked in so many different ways! No one will ever know. Hell, the rudimentary exam of the FED, the watered down version of Ron Paul's bill, illuminated a 16,000,000,000,000 discrepancy. I guess discrepancy might be a little harsh. It was more a 16 TRILLION give-away program to all the gubs bank buddies.
