The Editor’s back from vacation

I’d like to thank our regular gang of miscreants for pitching in and keeping IHTM up and running while I was gone…

The Administrator and I hadn’t had a vacation in the two and a half years since IHTM was born. So Mrs Editor and I took the last two weeks off. We flew to Seattle, then drove across Washington, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and back via Wyoming and Oregon.

We visited the Little Big Horn Memorial, Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, ran across a herd of buffalo that blocked the road in South Dakota, saw moose in Wyoming, had a giant family reunion in Montana, and fell in love with Boise.

I’d like to thank our regular gang of miscreants for pitching in and keeping IHTM up and running while I was gone – Kip Hooker, Perlcat, J.P. Travis, Bonfire of the Absurdities, Sven Waring and Patrick Michael (in no particular order). Thanks, guys. The Administrator and I really appreciate your help.

Obama spokesman says the President needs another vacation to rest up from this vacation

White House Spokesman Bill Burton explained to the media that President Obama now needs “a break from his vacation”. So as soon as his sojourn at Marxist Vineyard is over, he’ll rest up at Camp David for a few days before finally heading back to Washington, DC.

Remember the good old days when we had a manly President who relaxed by clearing brush and chopping logs at the Western White House? Reinvigorated, Ronald Reagan then winged his way back to Washington to beat up on Democrats for fun.

Well, strolling on the beach, window shopping, reappointing Federal Reserve chairmen and not visiting dying senators is even more exhausting than chopping logs and clearing brush.

It appears that the President wants to stay away as long as possible.

His current vacation was preceded by family trips to Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks. And that was preceded by another trip to Camp David that ended on July 20. And, of course, even when he’s in Washington, he gets still manages get away from the house to play 18 holes of golf every week.

We should have anticipated this. You could see it coming a mile away.

You wouldn’t be in a hurry to go home, either, if your mother-in-law lived with you. Or is this simply a case of what psychologists call projection?
