How that figure grew by 682% while the product being purchased was utterly failing is a mystery, but we’re fairly confident the people at CGI will turn out to be huge donors to the Obama presidential campaign.

How did they piss away $634 million. Simple. Anyone who has tried to do business with the government on anything, especially one of the pork projects knows the answer. The contract is awarded to the firm willing to kick back the most to the pols and procurement sleaze. Being able to do the job is not a consideration. Wanna bet when it comes out who got this contract it will be someone "well connected" to certain people? Of course, this too will be swept under the table my the ministry of propaganda (ie MSM).

Actually, I'm a little surprised. I expected the website to cost ten times as much as the initial estimate. So I guess that's a government defined savings of 32%.

Here's the thing, if everyone refuses to buy into Obamacare, pays the fine, and pays for their own healthcare on an as needed basis, it will drive down the cost of healthcare, because I haven't met one Dr yet that doesn't charge less for a cash patient, and the best part is it will bankrupt Obamacare!
That cost is simply amazing. $634 million for a website that allows people to register and order a product, essentially. There's nothing remarkable about that. Almost every national company in America that sells to the public has such a website, and almost all of them work flawlessly. Amazon handles a much higher volume than Healthcare.gov will ever handle - and they sell a nearly infinite variety of products. Not one product like Healthcare.gov. Amazon or eBay or Apple probably could have set up a website for Obamacare in about a month and done if for free for a small fee on every registration.
The website is essentially a political tool- a component in the ultimate prize of the Socialists to extort popular support for single payer. It is most likely working just as planned- not as a means of purchasing but as a means of endlessly frustrating anyone who THINKS they are going to be researching or purchasing anything.
This administration is nothing but a money laundering scheme for democrat party.
Check the federal dim wit campaign reporting. Somewhere in them will be contributions from the company or executives. Nothing like a little kick back to help get the cost over run ignored. Maybe they helped set up the wookies web site as well

Failure is part of the plan- it was engineered into the ACA "compromise" that is actually part of the journey to single payer- compromise peoples resources, futures, and sanity and they will demand it.
