In the early to mid 20th century the attention was on the common man. Bokos were written about them, music was composed about them, the common, hard working people were finally getting some attention. The ultra wealthy and the wanna be influential people couldnt tolerate that, so someere in the 40"s, suddenly it wasn't the common man, but the upwardly mobile, the better educated, the more sophisticated who were the ideal. Now its gang bangers and dope dealers. To everything there is a season.

Right off the top of my head, and not as a contradiction of anything written or commented (I have not yet read the link), I find that liberalism/socialism is what you force on other people.
Think about it. Marx writes this gibberish that people are now considering as brilliant. But Marx was not really a contributing member of society. Lenin, Ho, Mao, Che, all of them - they were people whose specialty was destruction of lives and property. They saw themselves, as do Hilary, Obmana, et als, as the people whose responsibility is to get others to live according to the rules of Marx. But not them. Even the Communist Party USA is invested in the stock market.
