The Right’s War on Innovation. “The ugly media circus and congressional investigation of Solyndra were scripted and planned long before the solar company filed for bankruptcy.” OK Carl, we have to wonder if you had a big bong load before you typed this one up? Solyndra was dead before this even started! The Obama administration’s $535 million loan guarantee for a company that was over-extended and non-competitive with the Chinese was at least an act of stupidity and possibly criminal. Those are some of the problems. The only conspiracy is that a lot of stupid people conspired to create a $535 million failure at tax-payer expense and all your smoke and mirrors BS isn’t going to change it one little bit.

Anyway, Fathead over there actually made on accurate remark:

I think we would all agree with that. As Thomas Edison observed, it took a hundred or so samples to figure out what would work as a light bulb filament.
Where Peckerneck parts company with rationality is the idea that those risks and failures must be subsidized, so that the Solyndra's of the world are protected from the consequences of their failures. But - no penalty, no motivation? Why try harder if you know you can fail and fail again?
Interesting corollary that just crossed my mind, maybe it's a little too far out there, maybe I've been reading too much Atlas Shrugged again: perhaps by not allowing purportedly private companies to suffer from their failures, they are conditioning/preparing them* to accept forfeiture of the fruits of their success?

Yeah, only a Marxist moron would think flushing $535 million so an Obama donor could make out like a bandit is "innovation." He likely thinks the Obama's wiping their butts with taxpayer millions while on their many vacations is also innovative.
Hell in Timmy Geithner knew that giving money to Solyndra was a bad idea. So if a tax cheat and scam artist knew it was a bad idea, why did they get 535 million in tax free money? Kick backs anyone?
