CareerCast.com has done some research. Some very comprehensive research. And when they came out of the other end of the process, they had determined the ten worst jobs in America.
This is all very scientific and based on five specific criteria – environment, income, employment outlook, physical demands and stress. So without further delay, here are the ten worst jobs in America:

8. Construction Worker (Laborer)
7. Taxi Driver
6. Garbage Collector
5. Welder
4. Dairy Farmer
3. Ironworker
2. Lumberjack
1. Roustabout
Hey, c’mon, there are some really bad jobs that didn’t show in the bottom ten that should have. Like the guy who cleans out porta-potties. Or the guy who gives Rosie O’Donnell her Brazilian wax. Or Democrat Senator from North Dakota. Or host of the Keith Olbermann Show.
Those are what you call bad jobs.

I am sorry but walking 8 miles a day tells me that you SHOULD have a hot body which many people will find enviable. You should be OVERALL healthy with all that exercise, unless you overeat or smoke or something. There are things called parkas and coats that I am sure you are familiar with, and as far as ice, that is a bit strange. I can see how walking on ice is a problem, however one can buy those shoes that have those things on the bottom to prevent falling. I also thought that most mailmen have a little car to help them drive around now so they don't have to walk. UPS delivers at night too, so that is not a bad thing it is good to remain competitive.
Yeah it is arduous and it is not perfect but you get excellent benefits that many in the private sector would envy and it is not medium if you make more than 50K a year. I know a mailman that make 60-70K a year depending on time they have worked (he has worked there for over 20 years) and the benefits are to die for. I am sorry I cannot commiserate. I do work in the private sector I got no benefits and I barely get to see the daylight when I go in it is early when I come out it is late. You at least get to enjoy the nice days when they are nice.
What I am saying is that the negatives are bad, but you have a lot going for you. I don't think it fair to say being a mailman is one of the worst jobs in this country at all.
im a mailman in wisconsin... we get good pay and good benefits, but I also walk 8 miles a day. I am out in the extreme cold, wet, windy, hot, humid and sometimes nice days. We also deliver in the night. Ice is not our friend, and most people I know in the postal service has to have surgery at least once or twice during their careers. We abuse ourselves so we can get a paycheck that is medium in wages at best.
I did'nt see any jobs listed that American's won't do. You know, the ones where we see people from every other nation in the world doing them. The only possible exception, cab driver.

If I had the money, I could fight libs fulltime.
A lot of these jobs may be physical or done under harsh conditions, but what is wrong with manual labor? KimmyQ is right - liberals have no real respect or empathy for working people.
You know Marx never worked a day in his life, never visited a factory as an adult, grew up in a middle class home, reecieved a pension from Engels that put him in the top 2% of citizens in Europe and lived quite lavishly for most of his life.
Wish I had the money to be a lib and look down on working people.
As long as I am ranting, have you ever seen a liberal deal with a working man or woman? Ever see a liberal leave a real tip?
How about Chuck Schumer - another one who never worked a day in his life - and how he treats airline personnel?
This is of course a list gathered by a liberal group. Liberals tend to abhor manual labor or any type of labor that makes you sweat, because it is not elitist nor intellectual nor "meaningful" yet without dairy farmers or welders or whatever a lot of infrastructures and meals will not be available for the enjoyment and use of all of us.
Federal employees make good money and have good pensions and benefits and yes welders make a lot of money it is not uncommon for a welder that is good to make 70 K or 90 K a year.
Taxi drivers if they are smart and hustle can make goo dmoney too. ironworkers and lumberjacks as well... especially during time of boom construction. and they the construction workers do make a good penny this list is bogus.
Unequivocally the worst job today in America is being part of the governments aphid farm, that continually milk us for more taxes.
have you seen a paycheck for a mailcarrier? They make bank! They have the same health plan as senators-and they have radical pensions. That list is bullshit. Good welders make bank too.

Believe it or not, I've actually witnessed Mr. Porta Potty cleaning a 'facility' with one hand, while eating a sandwich with the other....in 100 degree weather and no gloves in sight!
Kinda like Randy Quaid in "Christmas Vacation" when he announces, "The shitter was full!"
