Writing in Time, which used to be a news magazine, Joe Klein hammered away at the old liberal line that average Americans just aren’t smart enough to know what is good for them.
He complains that “There is something profoundly diseased about a society that idolizes its ignoramuses and disdains its experts.”
Ignoramuses, apparently, are anyone Joe Klein doesn’t like, including Christine O’Donnell, Sharon Angle, Ron Johnson and, of course, Sarah Palin, who Klein dismisses as “Our leading exemplar of ignorant authenticity.”
What is it about these people that causes Klein to treat them with such disdain? Believe it or not, it’s the fact that have committed the unforgivable liberal sin of being “certifiably non-elite.”
So who does Klein feel represents the elite and the “experts?” Obviously, the people who populate the current administration.
Apparently, the ability to scam a large number of people is a prerequisite to being considered what Klein calls a “card-carrying member of the elites.” Witness Klein’s adoration of former car czar turned financial swindler Steve Rattner, who has been fined $5 million “…and banned him from finance, for a time, because he and his partners apparently attempted to bribe major pension funds in New York to invest with them.”
In waxing eloquent about Rattner, Klein says, “Rattner is a journalist turned investment banker, an Ivy Leaguer, a denizen of Manhattan’s happiest haunts and of summers on Martha’s Vineyard, vacation spot of choice for Democratic Presidents. He did a fine job as Barack Obama’s auto czar; the GM and Chrysler bailouts seem to be working brilliantly, saving thousands upon thousands of good American jobs. I know Steve pretty well; I’ve had dinner at his house; we’ve had good conversations; our kids have played together.”
The left, of course, fails to realize that average Americans correctly consider Klein’s vaunted elites to be snobs who incorrectly consider themselves far better than the unwashed masses.
We would hope that after November 2 articles about elite politicians are of the “Hey, whatever happen to all those elite politicians?” variety.

Yes well some people do believe that some animals are more equal than others. In this case, the guy doesn't even try to disguise his disgust of the average person. I personally find THOSE people disgusting and I wish they would just go away and leave the country to the average person I am sure we would do a better job.
Ahhh the left. The DNC is the "party of tolerance", yet they tolerate no one who doesn't fit their ideological views, and their supposed "educational standards". However, I have to say, most of the kids I grew up with who went to the ivies are retards and need help to tie their shoes-so anytime a guy like Joke klein prints dribble like this, I remember what Michelle Antoinette said when asked about college......"I would not have gone to yale, were it not for affirmative action".....in other words, she was a brain-dead moron who should have gone to malcom x college on the north side of chicago-but thanks to affirmative action, she got into yale, without yale-level grades and extra-cirrricular activities.
In other words, always consider the source, because usually there is ulterior motive, or a lot of truth hidden from plain sight. I doubt very seriously anyhow, if O'Donnell would ever want to be mistaken for one of the "elites".
Tell the Pope he's not welcome in France, in that case.

This guy's entire being is invested in his eliteness. Thats not something that can be turned off, its WHO HE IS.

The absolute ignorance displayed by Klien and the rest of the so-called "elites" is amazing to say the least. Citizen legislators is what our founders envisioned, and it worked wonderfully. Their only problem, as far as Klien and his ilk think I am sure, is that they do not equate passing tyrannical and un-Constitutional laws and policy as a positive move for America.
It's not ignorance. It is bigotry, pure and simple. He feels uniquely qualified to judge the intellectual capabilities of the rest of the country, and since the rest of the country doesn't live where he does, doesn't go to the same schools he did, and doesn't think like he does, they are clearly beneath him.
The sad part is that the people in charge of the Time magazine spread this bigotry around the entire country. If you substituted racial or ethnic groups for the groups he castigates, his screed would appear well-suited for some of the most vile racist publications ever published. Since he writes to the crowd that believes this crap, he gets a paycheck, much like D.W. Griffith cashed a check for 'Birth of a Nation", when he should have gotten jail time and relegated to the ash heap of history..
Klein is a useless tool and Time is a useless fag rag.
About a decade ago I actually subscribed to this kennel-liner I'm ashamed to say. I got sick of their pro-homo, anti-American and anti-Christian lefty rants. After I cancelled they repeatedly sent me grovelling, begging whining letters offering some plastic trinket and a massive discount if I would again subscribe.
Joe Klein & Slime magazine...you know, I find it funny that Klein would'nt confuse O'Donnell as an "elite". I'm assuming that Klein thinks of himself as an "elite", & I think he believes that saying O'Donnell not being an "elite" is a put down. I think many in America see what kind of "success" the "elite" northeastern Ivy League types are having in running our nation, they will be taking the keys away from those people. What Joe Klein does'nt understand is that he is out of touch with America, & he does not know it. If he was told this, he would not care, & why should he? He get to keep his soft & cushy job writing for a magazine that has plummeting circulation numbers, & get paid well for doing so. As long as his bosses at Slime can't figure out that he is 1 of the main reasons the magazine is going downhill, why should Klein care?
Joe Klein is over, & does'nt know it. Someone should tell him.
