There is nothing funnier than reader comments in the Huffington Post when things go poorly for progressives. Absolutely nothing. The wailing, the moaning, the gnashing of teeth is just classic.
President Obama’s tax compromise with the Republicans proves to be comedy gold once again.

Obama should go find his cojones and take a firm stand one way or the other and stick with it. For all his faults Bush had big brass ones and didn’t flinch(although he was wrong most of the time) Obama needs some of that confidence and conviction.

Rod Blagojevich, remember him?
The way he got elected was he went downstate posed with a shotgun the head of UMWA gave him and convinced enough coal miners and prison workers that he would not take their shot guns and that he was bought and paid for by the unions.
2 years in to his term he has supported every anti gun bill , cut staffing and threatened to close the prisons in downstate so he could move the inmates to upstate prisons.
People are mad. Unions print shirts with their logo and local on the front and "we voted for Rod and got the shaft" on the back. There is talk he wont get the nomination. Long story short he gets reelected with over 60% of the vote. Same thing will happen with Obama.
As long as they are comparing Pres. Obama to candidate Obama they will hate him. As soon as they are given a Republican to demonize, they will love Obama again.
You can even guess what strategies they will use:
White person runs = Only opposes Obama because he is black
Black person runs = They are traitor to their race, plus they could suddenly remember that Obama is half white and tell us if we get a black man in the white house the will put spinners on presidential limo, lower property values and harass white women.
I wonder if the Obama camp has the ads drawn up and filmed all ready just waiting to splice in the name of whoever gets the nomination?

Welcome to the club Salty. This is something we were saying in 2008, took you a while to pick up on it. Still, this realization won't stop the loons at HuffPo, Kos and the DU from supporting an even crazier "progressive" in 2012.
I love how they eat their own-they make stupid decisions-they elect scumbags, and then the minute they regret it, the are convening a firing squad. It is beyond my wildest dreams to watch them all rally around a bonfire with pitchforks and torches because the guy isn't bringing down everyone in America who makes a decent living.
Watch the violence escalate over the next couple months-and then watch them sell him out as ineligible to be President. It will happen. They are done with him-and they need to get him out of the WH. There will be leaked documents that prove him ineligible, and that will be that. It is all over for him. the funny thing will be that his ineligibility will take everyone out of the G he appointed-and will take biden out of the picture-which poses a terrifying possiblity-John Freaking Boehner-the cry-baby as President, as the speaker of the house is first up when all the others are "unfit". Disagree. Looking at the donations list Obama is much a product of elite financial interest planting than anything W was accused of being. There is only one real party in America, the rest is just for the illusion of choice. Continuation of tax cuts, esp. to cap gains and dividends are as predictable as sunrise just as continued bailouts/FED backed loans and steep yield curve were.
With the help of media, Obama will rebound by 2012. Either that or another puppet will replace him. There is no way in hell it will ever come out that he was not an eligible citizen until some decades in the future. Otherwise, it would give away that the whole damn thing is a rigged game.
The best chance any of us normal people had of getting the real truth about BO just got arrested on a trumped up rape charge. R.I.P. to the republic.
If you drop the trumped up bit, then I agree 100%. There's better ways to do a character assassination than with a honey trap/rape charge. It's too easy to say "She was willing (at the time)".

I classified many documents of my own in my time and it was based on confusion and conservatisms based on the classification guide at the time. At the end of the day, I could declare anything I wanted classified and I'm glad there's someone out there willing to question that.
