Perhaps the gridlock in Washington could be broken if our elected representatives settled their disputes the old-fashioned Ukrainian way – with their fists.

Vice speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Adam Martynyuk, on the right, throttles deputy Oleg Lyashko during a session in the chamber of the Ukrainian parliament in Kiev on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. According to reports, Lyashko had just asked Martynyuk to let him make a speech, which Martinyuk refused to do on procedural grounds. Lyashko then apparently called his interlocutor a Pharisee, at which point it was on.
Wouldn’t you love to see this same technique put to work in our Congress? Could it be any less effective than the system we have now?

The worst thing that could happen to our political class these days, would be to get cartridge toner in their eyes, or maybe a self-inflicted paper cut. These guys aren't going to beat each other up, they love each other too much. When Repubics and Dumbocrats cross the aisle, we're the one's who're taken to the woodshed!

Ah, the good ol' day, when members of our congress would beat, bludgeon and bloody each other on the senate floor.....
Back then it was politically personal! Now they bash each other over MSM, and we all suffer for it.
I'd like to see more gun duels in Congress. Even when they lose, society wins -- we can always do for one less lawyer.
The problem with that idea, though, is that dueling is a matter of honor. While there are a few in Congress with honor, most think that 'honor' is a sexual position.
