And you may remember Sarah Palin targeted her district with an ad that had a gun sight on it.” Before Sawyer suggests folks stay away from Target Stores for fear Sarah Palin might take brand names literally, she may remember that Jared Loughner’s (the guy who actually shot Giffords) favorite reading material was “The Communist Manifesto” and “Mein Kampf.” Today’s MSM is all about the public’s right to know what the tools want you to know.

Gabby was shot in my present state. I really hope she gets better even tho I question if she'll have the spunk to make correct decisions in office. But I get tired of hearing about her, her family, her friends, her pets, etc. 10 times a day, everyday. This subject is getting stale enough to start collecting mold. Thank God for the mute button. As far as guns? I've bought 2 more since this shooting. OH, and a scope that looks nowhere near the target circles they keep blowing out of proportion.
The radical leftie liberal communists will embrace her as their new poster girl as soon as she can clearly denounce the Second Amendment, and there will be a new anti-gun lobby ala HCI and all the satellite groups that spawned from it. The true American citizens will have new battles on their hands fighting to keep the rights afforded us by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

That's because Reagan never decided to become a victim. Even though he was a shooting victim, he never attempted to exploit that for political gain. Unlike Carolyn McCarthy for example, when her husband was killed & her son shot by Colin Ferguson on the Long Island RR in 1993. She ran for Congress & has been trying strip Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights. She is 1 of several who has exploited such events in their lives to attempt to regulate our lives.

Exactly. I am very sorry she was shot. She seemed like a happy, bright, well spoken woman, and there was nothing to be accomplished by shooting her or anyone else that day. Still, she needs to be replaced in office. She has made astounding progrss, but she was shot IN THE HEAD!!! She will likely never be able to retun to Congress, with the need for quick thinking and strong speaking skills. In the meantime, her constiuents are unrepresented. That is illegal, to keep her on the books, just to ensure a Republican cannot be elected or appointed to that position.

The nutjob who shot Giffords, Jared Loughner, was known to be a nutjob. But his mother worked for Pima County, so when issues involving her son came up, she worked with Sheriff Dubnik to have it swept under the rug, & this happened more then once. So when Loughner went to Wal-Mart to purchase the Glock 19 that he used in the shootings, his backround check was good. If the concerns about Loughner had been dealt with properly without his mom wrenching the gears of that process, he would never have passed that backround check, & there would be 6 people still alive today.
Perfect illustration of how so many politicians are poster children for the law of unintended consequences. Reasonable gun laws are on the books, a hack undermines them, and suddenly the anti -gun nuts are screaming holy hell about stricter gun control among the population that is actually responsible with firearms and blaming conservatives out of political expediency.

You're not talking about one of those Quod erat demonstrandum type of Latins, either. More like a 'Steenkeen badchez' hispanic sort of latin. When my travels took me to Mexico so many times prior to this new millennium, good fortune brought many people my way. The vast majority referred to themselves proudly as pre-hispanic. Their disdain for their spanish conquerors was most evident, even centuries removed. The many did not resemble what many consider latino by any stretch, not at all. They are friendly and generous, ready with a humor and a smile and an unassuming trust. Talking with them after a brief time, it is easy to glean how much they disapprove of being considered latino. They are NOT latino at all. The early European invasion of the Maya, Aztec and Inca, to name only the few largest groups, left a quite bitter resentment among them.

Regardless of the context, is Sawyer's claim even true? Palin ran ads with a sighting diagram, but nothing specifically made it a gunsight. That's merely liberals' wishful thinking. It could be construed as a gunsight, but it could also be construed as a crossbow sight, a camera sight, a bomb sight, or a microscope photo of Joe Biden's brain.
Do you remember the gunsight NPR used as its logo? I do.
