Verbal gymnastics: White House security adviser … uhhh … uhhhh … defends Obama’s terror policies

tom donilon

White House Security Adviser Tom Donilon showed up on Fox News Sunday and quickly painted himself into a very tiny corner.

He did what he was sent out to do – defend President Obama’s contradictory terror policies – but made himself look remarkably foolish in the process.

Donilon parroted the Obama administration line that waterboarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was against our American values, but didn’t have an answer when host Chris Wallace asked him to explain how that jibed with shooting Osama in the head.

Nice work, Chris.

  • If the Obama administration does not believe in slow and painful torture, how do they explain what they have been doing to America for the last two and half years.

    • good point. I am tortured everytime I see him and I start asking for mercy when I hear him speak.

  • Mr. Donilon was squirming in his chair like he had hemorrhoids, but of course he only works for one.

  • Surely you can all see that Obama is our hero now. We owe everything to him. This entire week, they have told us all just how lucky we are that Obama is our president, because he killed OBL. All Hail the Emperor and his new clothes made out of Osama's hide.

I feel lucky....I feel lucky that I got to pop $67 into my wife's Honda, on a fill-up. I feel lucky that food companies and grocery stores are selling smaller portions for the same price as the larger, putting it the same size bag.... so we notice the rise in food prices less. Think about it, do you ever see smaller portions written on labels?

I feel lucky that TSA agents have to check poopy diapers for bombs (of the explosive kind) wasting time and resources, 6 year olds must get felt up and traumatized.

    Aren't we lucky now?

  • Wow, it's a clear cut case of the blind leading the stupid. So when it comes to the alinsky playbook the ends DO justify the means but when it comes to getting public enemy number one, we should sit back and ask nicely?! WOW...

  • Killing someone in order to save people's lives is not as bad as interrogating them strongly in order to save people lives? What? AT least the person being interrogated gets to keep his life... It this man a fool? Wait don't answer that, the answer is obvious.

  • Fox News Sunday is must-see TV for me. I have a man crush on Chris Wallace and Brit Hume. Watching Brit dice and slice Juan Williams is great entertainment. A couple of weeks ago Brit explained how economic growth raises more tax revenue than tax hikes. Juan replied that we still have to raise taxes on the rich. Brit couldn't stand it and said, "Juan, I love you but sometimes I think you're deaf".

    • Brit couldn’t stand it and said, “Juan, I love you but sometimes I think you’re deaf”.

I think that's why Juan wrenches his face so much. He has to try really hard to keep the truth from sinking in.

  • This administration will never admit that our interrogation techniques worked.
