WIND power – more accurately wind impotence, since turbines operate at just 24% of capacity – is the curse of Scotland. “…the bill for wind energy by 2020 will cost consumers £120 billion. Yet generating the same amount of electricity from efficient gas-powered stations would cost only £13bn.” Paying over 9 times more for something than necessary is a proposition only a liberal Democrat could love. Self-styled propeller-head Barack Obama is the real flat-earther when it comes to wind power, still clinging to archaic technologies that were obsoleted two centuries ago.

Heard Medved the other day state that the percentage of the world's electricity generated my wind, rounded to the next WHOLE number is zero!
Never mind, soon there'll be so many windmills in McTurbine Land, the whole shebang will sail off into the North Sea, which is probably what the rest of the Former UK would prefer (and the Scots, too - for a while...)
Reading this kind of story is bad for my blood pressure. I don't mind liberals being so stupid - someone has to be stupid - but why in God's name are we letting them drag us down into Stupidville?
Like ethanol, wind turbines are an expensive failure. They cannot generate enopugh electricty to justify their cost, they mar the landscape, they kill thousands of birds and bats, they depress land values and they drive people out of nearby homes with their infrasound. Yet Obama, the Donks and the Greens continue to suppport these white elephants; it's a lethal combination of crony capitalism, bureaucratic hubris and wishful thinking.
The tubines should be scrapped and their metal recycled into something useful, like a new oil reninery.
