Maybe it's the noise generated by thousands of screaming seagulls as they die after being sliced in half by speeding turbine blades. Or the thrashing noises from feasting sharks as they gobble the seagull body parts that rain down on the ocean surface. There are many possible causes. All I'm saying is you can't necessarily blame the windmills.
Some new stuff I'd never heard JP, and the bad guy is China. Again.

Well honestly, I AM suspicious about this kind of complaint. I live down that way, and for starters, people have been griping about the noise from Otis AFB for ages, usually after being told several times over before buying that there was a fighter base ten miles down the road. Falmouth also had a spell of notoriety a few years ago when it was identified, ominously, as the nexus of a "cancer cluster," by professional do-gooders who didn't understand the idea of statistics and means and medians and such (but blamed Otis and jet fuel and munitions and "pollution plumes" nonetheless.)
Catch this line: "The name was coined by Nina Pierpont, a John Hopkins University-trained pediatrician, whose husband is an anti-wind activist..." so there's definitely a bit of self - interest at work. I distrust anyone who uses "activist" as a self-descriptor, especially here in Mass., where being a busybody is actually a career option.
I may also have a somewhat different take than others here too, in that I have absolutely nothing against wind power or windmills or whatever. My objection is when it becomes the government's slush fund. Oh, ironically, or perhaps predictably, a number of years ago when a private developer (read: "Corporate Greed," I'll save you the trouble, doofus) wanted to put up a windmill farm offshore, oh my, did people have the vapors! It compromised the view from the Kennedy Kompound, if that's any clue what was going on, but you will still see prissy little bumper stickers, "Cape Cod Bay -- NOT FOR SALE!"
Well that ended up a bit of a rant. I'll drop it cold there.
They couldn't put windmills in the bay while Teddy was alive because he'd knock over three of them every time he went on a cruise in his yacht.
Kidding aside it would seem putting them offshore would create a whole series of expensive maintenance issues stemming from corrosion. Of course cost is never really considered by the green energy folks.
Now they can't put them off the Vineyard because Lurch Kerry will tie his yacht off to them and claim they were off shore to avoid paying taxes.

The alcohol fumes eminating from there could explain the whole thing.
