Maybe now, because of the need for corn for food, they will stop making that crappy fucking ethanol! I would like to get better than 12 MPG out of my 6 cylinder truck!
I drive a Ford Ranger for daily stuff, like going to work, and it used to average 25 MPG. Then our former goobernor, $Bill Retardson, mandated that all gas sold in New Mexico had to be 10% ethanol. Now I average 21 MPG and the only reason I get that is I have to buy mid-grade gas so the thing will run at all. Of course, mid-grade costs 13 cents per gallon more than regular.
If I have to take my F-250? Forget it! I have to buy premium gas, 26 cents per gallon higher than regular, and still only get about 10 MPG on the road. It's all a scam, one more way to run our economy into the ditch.
There is one station here that sells non ethanol fuel, it's about $.25 more a gallon, but I think it's worth it. I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with the cheaper crap and it seems to make a difference. I may have to try going full on with the stuff, it will only cost me $4 a tank more.
Ok, so it isn't just me. My Ford used to get 24 MPG now its just 20.
Your point is too often overlooked, & that is ethanol is a sh!t fuel. It's bad for engines & the energy needed to produce it is a loser.
Amazing how that "green renewable stuff" has negative domino effect on everything, not just the US economy, the world economy. Kinda proves that our economy drives the rest of the world, not the other way around as the liberatti would have us believe.
