WWII vet, beaten by teens outside Eagles Lodge, dies. Our sincere thanks to this WWII Veteran who fought for the freedom of speech that our first post-racial President used to stir up the country about the death of Trayvon Martin. We also thank him for fighting for the freedom of expression these two cowards used to allegedly kill him in what has the appearance of an act of racial revenge. We won’t hold our breath waiting for Obama, Biden, Holder, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Jackson, Sharpton, Rangel, Waters, Hillary, or the Martins to say anything about what appears to be a racially motivated hate crime. Regardless if the motive was racial or a mugging gone bad, may Delbert Benton Rest In Peace, he didn’t deserve this.

  • I really don't think there's much else to say here that everyone else hasn't already said just as well as I could (except a certain souless dirtbag) except this: it's high time the Supreme Court corrects their error regarding making anyone under 18 ineligable for the death penalty. By the time you're 15, 16, or 17, you know damn good and well the concept of murder and the consequences of your actions. The fact that these monsters might ever be freed someday should scare every decent person to the core. Sad as it is, some people are not fit to live.

  • Those black thugs do NOT represent most blacks. Decent blacks, which is most of them, are disgusted by mongrels like this. I had a long conversation with a black pastor today and he had tears in his eyes over this veteran being murdered. Hell, I got choked up while we were talking. He is so embarrassed by these kinds of acts. And I believe a majority of blacks are. They just don't get press like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do.

    At the core of this issue is the sinister and evil nature of liberalism. The goal is to devolve all power away from individuals and to institutions. Look at everything they do and you will see that this is true.

    Liberals seek to convince people that this is a bad country, that they deserve whatever they can take, and that no one is really responsible for their actions.

    It is a diametric opposite from what this country was founded on. I am afraid that if we do not elect a STRONG conservative for President in 2016, capture the Senate, and hold the House - we may have missed a glorious chance to save our country.

  • I'm not racist. It's against my Christian beliefs. There aren't a lot of black people where I live in Louisville. And so when I see a young black male in the area, I get kinda concerned. I guess I would be called a racist, but when I watch the news in Louisville, it seems like almost all the violence is downtown and 75% of the perps are black. This Washington crime and the atrocious crime in Oklahoma where two of the three perps were black is a reason why many, including George Zimmerman, get their backs up when they see a young black male somewhere they aren't usually seen.

    A few years ago, Jesse Jackson said that when he hears footsteps behind him, he gets nervous when he sees it's a couple of black males, but feels relief if the males are white. That's sorta how I feel. Jackson tried to backtrack, but everyone knows he spoke from the heart, unguarded the first time. The civil rights leaders should be asked a few questions. Why do you think so many people are scared of young black males? Why are a disproportionate number of them, I think 1 in 4, somehow involved in the criminal justice system?

    • As a black woman I feel very unsafe around young black males that I don't know. Depending on the neighborhood and how they act or how they are dressed white young men too, but let's be truthful here about statistics. I am far more at risk of anything bad happening to me, in the hands of a black male than anyone else. Am I a racist?

      • I've grown up in a 95% white town and there were plenty of redneck homeboys it's not a good idea to be in close proximity. Esp. the teens when they do some illegal drag races and drinking in empty parking lots.

        • Most of the people's complaints here come from being furious at a culture that not only fosters this behavior but in many cases encourages and celebrates it, or makes excuses. Including the President of the United States. Add in the race hustlers and a complicit media (hence the name of this site), and a lot of folks are getting pretty urinated off.

          The facts of all these cases are what have people like me up in arms (pun definitely intended), I couldn't care less the race of either the victim or the doer, but I will tell you this; this bullshit has got to stop. And the left side of the aisle in this country blames the problem on racism, spouts platitudes and emotion phrases, and wants to disarm the law abiding public. And you seriously ask... oh never mind.

        I am wary and on my guard whenever I see a group of young males, no matter what the race, especially when they're dressed in certain styles and act certain ways. When by myself, I'm not so concerned because I know I can take care of myself, but if I'm with others, I have to be extra aware because the people I go anywhere with aren't so capable. Suffice it to say that I keep certain tools of the trade in my vehicles that would surprise the hell out of anyone getting funny ideas, and the best part of it is I can't be accused of anything because I use them in my work.

        • Realism does NOT equal racism. I would be just as concerned if I were being followed by a group of Muslims, and that's not a race, it's a so called religion. You see what a large number of a group of people do, and you are naturally disposed to view that group in a certain way.

          I would have no fear of walking into the middle of a group of Christians, even if they knew I wasn't a believer. Something about the fact that they don't behead disbelievers.

  • Yet the Race-Baiters like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton say that violence like this is merely "frowned upon," and that there is no comparison to Treyvon Martin's case. I agree. This man, and Chris LANE, whose name Jessie Jackson can bring himself to even get correct, were senseless. They weren't doing anything to anyone. Whereas Treyvon was beating a man's head against the pavement. Yes, Zimmerman shouldn't have been following him, yadda, yadda, but did that give Treyvon the right to turn violent? How about turning and verbally challenging Zimmerman, or calling the police (instead of your girlfriend), or simply making your way HOME? Once he started to pound Zimmerman's head in, it became self-defense.
