According to the Los Angeles Times, not exactly a bastion of conservative viewpoints, the Obama administration is not doing well with it’s crazy freakin’ liberal base.
The Times explains:
“When he ran for president, Barack Obama attacked the George W. Bush administration for putting political concerns ahead of science on such issues as climate change and public health. And during his first weeks in the White House, President Obama ordered his advisors to develop rules to “guarantee scientific integrity throughout the executive branch.”
Many government scientists hailed the president’s pronouncement. But a year and a half later, no such rules have been issued. Now scientists charge that the Obama administration is not doing enough to reverse a culture that they contend allowed officials to interfere with their work and limit their ability to speak out.”
So basically, liberals are saying that despite all the “hopey changey” campaign rhetoric, the reality is that Obama is just as guilty of choosing politics over science as the Bush administration was ever accused of being. In fact, the article goes on to say:
“We are getting complaints from government scientists now at the same rate we were during the Bush administration,” said Jeffrey Ruch, an activist lawyer who heads an organization representing scientific whistle-blowers.
But interviews with several scientists – most of whom requested anonymity because they feared retaliation in their jobs – as well as reviews of e-mails provided by Ruch and others show a wide range of complaints during the Obama presidency.
What a bunch of cry babies these scientists are. Of course, the Greatest President in the History of the World will fulfill his promises just as soon as he:
- Stops the leak in the Gulf
- Gets Unemployment under 8%
- Closes Gitmo
- Saves the whales
- Gets the broom stick of the Wicked Witch of the West
- Gets the C-SPAN coverage of all his backroom meetings going
- Shuts Blago up once and for all
- Shuts Joe Sestak up once and for all (Where did he go, anyway?)
- Shuts Andrew Romanoff up once and for all
- Closes down the State of Arizona
- Gets the New Black Panthers to puh-leeze stop talking to the media
- Gets Eric Holder to puh-leeze stop talking to the media
- Figures out a word that sounds better than Socialism
Then, scientists – after the great and powerful Obama squeezes in one last round of golf – he will no doubt focus his laser-like Presidential vision on your petty little problems.

People were expecting too much from this dude. No one can really look to one man and his administration for perfection no matter political affiliation, but for some reason people wanted to believe that he was THE ONE that could really solve ALL their problems. Strange.
