Jim Riches is a former deputy with the New York City Fire Department and father of a fallen 9/11 firefighter. His son Jimmy died the day before his 30th birthday.
“I am very upset, you know. I think Obama was lecturing to us yesterday, talking down to us like, you know, like everybody is a radical and a racist and a bigot.”
We feel very badly for Riches. But in Obama’s world, anyone who disagrees with him is a radical and racist and bigot.

It is amazing how much respect Obama is willing to give to a part of teh population at the expense of the feelings and suffering of grieving members of the population. He is not a good President and I hope this is his only term.
Precisely. There are times and there are people when & to whom there's nothing you can say but "I'm sorry for your loss." Only an imbecile could not tell that this is one of those times and one of those people.
So intent on scoring partisan points that he looks like a total jerk.
To Jim Riches: Welcome!
just 9 years after 9/11, and according to our President, a Cordova Mosque needs to be built at Ground Zero.
Was there a Imperial Japanese Navy 'Information and Community Center' erected @ Pearl Harbor?
Wasn't the Japanese Navy too busy getting their asses kicked, to be erecting Community Centers?
How things change.
Yes indeed, they were too busy with a war on their hands. We, as opposed to the Greatest Generation, welcome murderers into our midst and pretend that it's OK to allow them to celebrate their murders. I can only imagine how such a monument would have gone over. Not that I am in favor of internment camps, but at least we don't have to let them in the back door/Mexico.
The U.S. needs leadership, not lectures.
They should have been proud to have been 'dressed down' by the smartest prezident in history - proud and honored.
