And this is the thing... instead of being a guy with some class and say something appropriate or nothing at all, in his last speech he decided to expel vitriol and venom (and show an incredible amount of envy and sour grapes) to make a lazy and stupid non-point that everyone who has their head right is going to laugh about anyway. He was a waste of time and space. Good riddance.

Now my question is... what was his point? Because some people are rich and he doesn't like them we have to force EVERYONE who has more than $200K gross income to have tax increase which will indoubtely trickle down to other people and making everything even worse? I mean really is he really that selfish? and what exactly stops him from giving 70% or more of his probably ill gained money to the IRS?! Nothing! Why force OTHERS when he and his ilk should do it voluntarily? It is very hypocritical. if anything I am sure that he would fine a way to hide most of his assets if this thing does run out.

As has been said many, many times before. Liberals do not mind higher taxes as they don't bother to pay them anyway.
That's because socialism is for the people, not the socialist. Today's libs are socialists, pure & simple.
I'd run for president with the premise that Obama's suggestion that "..at some point, you've made enough money." be utilized to isolate a group of people that agree with that idiocy, sort of the preliminary campaign feeler out process, you know. Then when in office the early work would include taking most of those peoples' money to hire lawyers to eliminate lawyers from politics. I know it sounds tricky, but it is, that's why it'll work!
Grayson: Those guys give that much and more to charities. And, with their wealth, they create 1000s of JOBS in home construction, media, communications, publishing, travel and more. Why send it to Congress so you can fritter it away on useless crap like your poster boards.

I'm aware that many are wealthy before their public service began but I seriously don't understand.
Allow me to relieve you of your confusion Paden. Politicians are not public servants, they are self servants. They start by accumulating wealth and get into politics to keep it, grow it, or both. They write bills that serve their own personal interests or the interests of their friends and never the interests of the public. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. Public servants are those guys in orange suits you dodge on the freeway.

In a way I enjoyed Alan Grayson; the over the top rhetoric, the partisan diatribes and the insane lies. But I enjoyed even more his humiliating defeat, his incoherent concession speech, his weeping supporters and his exit from the Congress.
