Is it her hideous sense of fashion? Her imperious attitude? Or just the fact that her last name is Obama?
Byron York reports in the Washington Examiner:
The number of Americans who have a positive opinion of First Lady Michelle Obama has fallen in the last 16 months, according to the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. In April, 2009, 64 percent of those surveyed by the Journal/NBC said they had a positive impression of Mrs. Obama; today, the number is 50 percent. That 50 percent personal approval is just slightly above President Obama’s personal approval figure, which stands at 46 percent in the new poll.
It’s Bush’s fault. Laura Bush, that is.
Mrs. Obama’s personal popularity is lower than former First Lady Laura Bush’s ratings in the same poll by the same pollsters. In December, 2001, 76 percent of those surveyed had a positive opinion of Mrs. Bush. In February 2005, that number was 65 percent. In October 2006, with her husband’s job and personal approval ratings plummeting, Mrs. Bush’s personal approval rating was 56 percent.
Hey, Obamas, here’s an idea. Just forget these pesky polls and go on another fancy schmancy vacation. That’ll make everyone love you again.

Wait... what does Bush have to do with his wives' approval rating? Not only did she mind her own business (didnt get involved with his policies), she was gracious, very charitable and very pro children and pro women. Seriously because people didn't like Bush her ratings went down? what the heck? They expected her to intervene on him or something? That wasn't her job. The things that she did and said during her husband's Presidency reflected good on her, that makes no sense for me.
At least Michelle deserves for her approval to be down SEPARATE from her husband's performance. Michelle is a bad first lady and the things that she does and says should reflect on her badly without any need from her husband.

Yes.
Have you all seen this article?

It is...awesome.
Just who the hell dresses this woman? What an embarrassment! You KNOW she looks at pictures of herself in the press...and she obviously doesn't think there's anything wrong with what she wears, otherwise she wouldn't repeat these non stop hideous outfits. That and 'her people' are afraid to tell her the truth.
You could do a mini-series on "What Not To Wear' with her never ending wardrobe disasters.
DJ I feel that this should tell us that she is not very approachable and she is too intimidating and people are sycophants around her as that is probably the only type of people she allows around her. I don't think she is interested in hearing the truth. If a person really wants to hear opinions from others and make good decisions about their behavior be it as simple as wardrobe it would be reflected if not 100% at least 90% of the time. She either has no real friends to tell her she looks bad or she really just wants to wear what she likes and she doesn't want to hear anything negative.
I thought you guys were all about freedom. SHouldn't she wear what she likes? Or is she supposed to wear what you like?
You're very inconsistent...
How does a person not liking what another person wears have to do anything with the freedom for her to wear it? I've had this type of logic told to me before in the last couple of years and i don't understand it.
For example: I disagree with an opinion and I say I disagree with said opinion. (could be in a regular discussion, or might be in a tone that more or less says "Double tee eff!? How could you believe that!?") The fact I disagree with this opinion means I am trying to say the person has no right to have said opinion.
I've seen much of that floating about in the last year. I will never say someone doesn't have th right to an opinion; or the write to wear clothes that make a person lookl ike they came directly from a trailer park, but that doesn't mean I can't think it is wrong.
In this case the couple Represents the USA on the topmost level: They should, at least, try to look the part. I Don't think Barrack Hussein Obama (Barry to his friends, who he seems to not have any recently) and his wife show their true respect for our country through the way they dress. Even if they don't have any taste, they can afford people that do and taste and should use them. Mrs. Obama shouldn't look like this and Mr. Obama shouldn't be running around taking his shirt off for photoshoots, or looking like he just dropped out of bed when he is on an official, Tax Payer sponsored event.
It all comes back to the idea that they are pretty much flipping the bird to the American people by they way they dress. The presidential couple shouldn't have to be in a suite and tie and evening dress all the time, but when they are representing the USA, they should look the part.
If they were competent leaders, I guess we could let their sense of style go. But neither of them are and the way they dress just kind of underlines that for everyone.
To sum up: If you are going to spend 2000 dollars on a dress, at least have a sense of taste.
Hey, I have no problem with what she wears. It shows what kind of class she has----NONE. ;-)
She could wear a burlap sack if she wanted to...and we would let her know that it is a burlap sack.
Oh no... I never said that she didn't have the right to wear what she wants to wear. However what she wears is hideous to my eyes, so even though she has the right to wear what she wears (and she can continue to do so) I HAVE THE RIGHT to consider what she wears hideous and to laugh at it if I so choose.
Anyone who knows about fashion and wants to truly help her wear what best SUITS her body in color, fabric and cut can help her if she wants but as far as I can see she doesn't have such a person in her life. Again her right, but again my right to point it out.
Actually, she's just doing her part to make all other American women look good. ;-)
Yeah all that we have to do on a bad looks day is say "Well at least I don't look like Michelle Obama."
Knock it off. I like cows & wildlife.
To call her an ugly cow is an insult to the bovine community. She is an ugly porcine.
I've looked at that picture time and time again, and still can't quite believe that I'm looking at the presidential family of the United States. How did that happen? I hope all right-thinking US citizens will take steps to restore a true American back to the throne before too much further damage is done...
Michelle looks horrible; she looks like an flashy iron lure I would use to catch tuna.
I actually dislike her more than him, and I think she pulls his strings most of the time.
The first kids seem cool, they look happy and proud of their father, and thats a good thing for kids to be.
The Obama's (exluding the kids) are not likeable people. They seem to be extremely self absorbed, self important bullies. They surround themselves with similar types of people, the rest are worthless asskissers.
Think "The Jeffersons" theme-song:
"Moving on up to the East Side,
We finally got a piece of the pie."
Unhappily, it appears they want the whole pie, not just a piece.
