Coming Monday, August 29: The new, improved IHateTheMedia.com 2.0

We’ve been banging out this ravenous monster known as IHateTheMedia.com for two and a half years now. We got so excited about hitting 10,000,000 page views that we went off our meds and now our Attention Deficit Disorder is out of control.

We decided it’s time to shake things up, to try something different, to do the unexpected.

So next Monday, August 29 we will introduce IHateTheMedia.com 2.0. More stories. More snark. More focus. Quicker. Shorter. More stuff, less fluff.

We’re going dark this Saturday and Sunday (August 27 and 28) to work out all the bugs and then we’ll go live again on Monday morning.

Everything else will be the same. The same sense of community we’ve built up with our readers. The same trolls. The same semi-amusing commentary (on a good day). The same twisted outlook on the day’s events.

We think you’ll like it. Well, we hope like hell you like it.

  • RHG: "I think that thank you should come from all of us."

Very nice of you, but totally unnecessary.

I'm having a pretty good year, so I thought to "spread the wealth around" to some peeps who have EARNED recognition for their (half-assed} effort to create something new, rather than waiting around for some entitlement funds for out of work web designers, programmers and starving editorialists. Which, judging by their work here, they both should be.

I may have just thrown my money down a well, but it is a wishing well for the success of people who are trying, rather than throwing my money down the black hole of further government intervention into "creating" jobs.

Don't thank me, thank Ed and Admin for creating a place where all the rest of us frustrated editorialists can get together to exchange little knick-knacks of knowledge and THWACK on a troll at our leisure.

All seriousness, this site to me is what being an American is all about. To talk, to argue, to create and to grow together as a community. To that end, I wish the boys (and girls) backstage all the best luck in the world, and I simply put my money where my mouth is.

    • I do appreciate the work that goes into making this site what it is, and give many thanks and kudos to Mr. Ad and Mr. Ed. It can't be easy sifting through all the liberal crap they have to look at to bring us our daily load of leftist nonsense. For that, they deserve a big thank you.

  • Gushing Ed: "It’s gratifying to know that our efforts are appreciated enough to inspire your generosity."

If I don't get that tingle, we're going to have a problem.

All kidding aside, your work and generosity to host this barn are exemplary.

Back to the grind, Smut Merchant.

  • Sounds too good to be true.

I hereby pledge $100.00 toward server costs if the new Board sends a "tingle" up my leg. That would be the closest I've been to sex in quite some time.

    TMI ?

      • ....but you'll take the money anyway, right Mr. Flynt?

After all, it's "for the children" of IHTM.

          • Hey Eddie- Did you guys find the funds, or do I have to issue a Fatwa against Pay Pal to get my money back?

          • Well you know, if bandwidth ever becomes a problem, I'm sure there is a bit of code out there that will dump all of the trolls 4000 word posts off the server, and you can save a ton of money!

          • I think that thank you should come from all of us. Thank you Beanhead, for helping keep our favorite website moving ahead. I only wish my finances were in good enough condition to match it.

          • I checked with the Administrator yesterday and much to my surprise we do have a PayPal account and your $100 donation did show up in it.

He told me he was going to send you a gushing thank you note, but he's been swamped working on IHTM 2.0 and it must have slipped his mind.

So let me issue a public thank you. I think it's only the second donation we've ever had and we appreciate it. It's gratifying to know that our efforts are appreciated enough to inspire your generosity. Thank you one hundred times over.

          • Methinks that little gambling problem of yours has placed a barrier between your fingers and the till.....

  • Good weekend to do it. I'll be in the middle of twelve straights days of working at the hospital this weekend.

  • Please don't pull a "Facebook" and go overboard with the superfluous shite.
Too much is not always better.

    • May I suggest drinking a good scotch in vast quantities? It makes time go very quickly, and even conversations with the most boorish become quite entertaining. Trust me, it has saved me many times. I call it "liquid cartoons."

    • LOL! I know right! I will have to like DO something maybe be OUTSIDE! It is all good I think it is good to make changes from time to time so I look forward to it Mr. Admin and Mr. Editor.

    • But what will Dear Sweet Olivia do for two whole days? Her family is going to lose their minds, since she'll have to babble her nonsense to them the whole time.

    • You know, so we can discuss off topic subjects. You could probably even have whole separate section tilted, " Oblivia, you hapless twit, how I love thee. " We gots a lot to say, so loosen the reins and let us run baby!!!!

        • If you're going to weave all the loose threads together, I suggest it be called the "Open Noose." A place to hang yourself with your own opinions.
